Due to rising costs of fuel, a lack of passengers and the rising air passenger duty in Kenya, British carrier Virgin Atlantic has announced its withdrawing from the London Heathrow <> Nairobi route from 24 September 2012.
Since Virgin Atlantic launched the route between the two destinations in 2007, the air passenger duty has more than doubled and fuel costs have increased by more than 50%.
Virgin Atlantic's last flight from London to Nairobi will be on 23 September 2012; the return flight will be operated on 24 September 2012. The full published schedule will operate until this point so passengers can continue to book flights throughout the next few months.
