Emirates to launch daily flights to Dublin in January 2012
Good news for all the Irish out there. United Arab Emirates' flag carrier Emirates announced the launch of daily flights to Dublin from January 2012. It will be Emirates first route to the Republic of Ireland.
The daily service, from 9th January next year, will leave Dubai at 0700hrs and arrive in the Irish capital at 1130hrs. The return flight leaves Dublin at 1255hrs and gets into Dubai at 0025hrs the next day. An Airbus A330-200 will be deployed between Dubai and Dublin, offering First, Business and Economy class.
Dublin will be Emirates 29th route in Europe and the airline's 115th destination worldwide.

Do you remember what is so special about the Tamboti tree?
I guess everyone who has been on safari in Kruger National Park will have heard about the Tamboti tree. As a matter of fact, a lot of travellers, like myself, are most of the time so overwhelmed by the experiences in the park that all these little facts about fauna and flora are too easily to be forgotten.
Well, Justin Bonello from the great TV show "Cooked", stayed at the Earth Lodge at Sabi Sabi Privat Game Reserve the South-Western section of the Kruger National Park and one of the tour guides there explained to him what is so special about the Tamboti tree! The "Wheel of Excellence" returns to Cape Town
The "Wheel of Excellence", which was dismantled and sold earlier in 2011, returned to Cape Town's V&A Waterfront and will get reopened to the public from 10 September 2011 to 30 April 2012.
A ride on the "Wheel of Excellence" will cost R220 per family of six, or R80 for adults and R40 for kids. The opening times will be Tuesday - Thursday (11h00 - 19h00) and Friday - Sunday (10h00 - 20h00). the Wheel will be closed on Mondays.
The "Wheel of Excellence" has 36 fully-enclosed cabins, including two wheel chair friendly and accessible cabins. A ride on the Wheel usually takes 12-15mins long (4 rounds).

Velvet Sky to launch Johannesburg <> Polokwane service
South Africa's newest low-cost domestic airline, Velvet Sky, will launch a twice-daily Johannesburg <> Polokwane service from 30 September 2011.
The morning flight will depart from Johannesburg's OR Tambo International Airport 07:30am (arrival time in Plokwane 08:25am) on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The return flight from Polokwane will depart at 09:05am (arrival time at OR Tambo International Airport 10:00am).
The evening flight will depart from Johannesburg at 17:20pm (arrival time in Plokwane 18:10pm) on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The return service will depart Polokwane at 18:35pm (arrival time at OR Tambo International Airport 19:25pm).
