The flag carrier of Belgium, Brussels Airlines, is set to introduce a fifth weekly nonstop flight between Brussels Airport (BRU) in Brussels and Entebbe International Airport (EBB) in Entebbe (Uganda). The airline will operate an Airbus A330-200 in a Business/Economy two class cabin layout on the route. The five flights combine Entebbe with Kigali International Airport (KGL) in Kigali (Rwanda) enroute back to Brussels. Earlier this year, Brussels Airlines shifted one of its two flights between Brussels and Bujumbura International Airport (BJM) in Bujumbura in Burundi to Entebbe International Airport.

Brussels Airlines to increase flights to Entebbe & Kigali!
The flag carrier and largest airline of Belgium, Brussels Airlines, is set to launch a forth weekly flight on Mondays (SN471) between Brussels Airport (BRU) in Brussels and Kigali International Airport (KGL) in Kigali, Rwanda, via Entebbe International Airport (EBB) in Entebbe, Uganda, on 28 March 2015. With the addition of this flight, Brussels Airlines' overall service to Entebbe will increase from 3 to 4 weekly flights, while Kigali sees increase from 5 to 6 weekly flights.

Kenya: Brussels Airlines to cease flights Brussels <> Nairobi!
Belgium's flag carrier, Brussels Airlines, will, due to a new Lufthansa Group strategy, cease flights between Brussels Airport (BRU) in Brussels (Belgium) and Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) in Nairobi (Kenya) as from 24 October 2015. From then on, flights between the two cities will be operated by Lufthansa Group partner airlines SWISS (via Zurich, Switzerland) and Lufthansa (via Frankfurt, Germany).

Brussels Airlines: More flights to East Africa from October 2014
The flag carrier airline of Belgium, Brussels Airlines, has announced that it will increase its flights offers from its homebase at Brussels Airport (IATA: BRU) in Belgium to Kenya, Rwanda and Burundi. As from 26 October 2014, Nairobi will be flown five times weekly (two additional frequencies). The Rwandan capital Kigali and the Burundian capital Bujumbura each get an additional weekly flight frequency. Kigali will then be served five times weekly and Bujumbura three times.

Brussels Airlines to increase flights to Kigali
The flag carrier airline of Belgium, Brussels Airlines, will increase its flight frequency between Brussels (Belgium) and Kigali in Rwanda subject to government approval. In case of approval, the East African destination will be served four times instead of three times a week starting from 28 Oct 2012. The airline will operate the route via Nairobi, Kenya.
Brussels Airlines currently operates service to the East African airports of Kigali (Rwanda), Entebbe (Uganda), Nairobi (Kenya) and Bujumbura in Burundi as well as to 16 other African destinations.

Brussels Airlines to launch flights to Mombasa (Kenya)
update (14 Sept 2012): Brussels Airlines has canceled the previously announced launch of a scheduled service to Mombasa (Kenya) because of administrative reasons.
The flag carrier airline of Belgium, Brussels Airlines, will launch scheduled services to Mombasa in Kenya. Starting on 02 November 2012 Brussels Airlines will fly every Friday morning to Mombasa. The return flight is scheduled on Friday evening with arrival in Brussels Airport on Saturday morning. The flight schedule allows smooth connections to and from other European countries, such as Germany, France, the UK, Italy and more as well as to and from the USA.
Mombasa is Brussels Airlines second destination in Kenya and its 21st destination in Africa.

European airlines are adjusting their winter schedule to Southern & Eastern Africa
Germany's flag carrier, Lufthansa, has announced operational and frequency changes to its South Africa schedule for the duration of the European winter of 2012/2013. The airline will reduces the number of flights to Johannesburg between 08 January 2013 - 30 January 2013 from daily fligths to six flights per week. Due to the recently introduced night flight ban in Frankfurt, the airline will also move its seasonal connection to South Africa from Frankfurt to Munich.
British Airways, national airline of the United Kingdom, will also adjust its schedule during the European winter. The airline will switch its seasonal flight BA042 from Cape Town (South Africa) to London Heathrow from a departure time in the morning to a night time departure.

Brussels Airlines to increase service to Kigali (Rwanda) & Entebbe (Uganda)
The flag carrier of Belgium, Brussels Airlines, will start operating a 4th and 5th weekly service to Entebbe (Uganda) and Kigali (Rwanda) respectively between 01 June 2012 and 30 Sept 2012. The flights will be with a A330-300 aircraft. Brussels Airlines currently operates Brussels – Kigali – Entebbe – Brussels routing, as well as Brussels – Kigali – Nairobi – Brussels once a week.

Brussels Airlines increases frequencies to Nairobi (Kenya) & four other African destinations
Belgium's largest airline, Brussels Airlines, will increase its international flight frequencies to five African destinations. From April 2012 the airline will enhance travel possibilities and seat capacities to/from Nairobi (Kenya) and Bujumbura (Burundi) in East Africa and to/from Yaoundé, Douala (Cameroon) and Abidjan (Ivory Coast) in West Africa as well as to/from Kinshasa in the DR Congo.
Thanks to the timing of the flights, passengers will be able to connect seamlessly between these new flights and other Brussels Airlines' flights within Europe or to/from the United States.

Brussels Airlines offers 10% "gorilla rebate"
Accoring to several reports, Brussels Airlines, member of the Lufthansa Group, will with immediate effect offer a 10 percent "gorilla rebate" for passengers flying to Entebbe (Uganda) and Kigali (Rwanda), against proof of having purchased a gorilla tracking permit in either of the countries.
The rebate of 10% is applicable to the airfare only. The discount will be reviewed in three months time to assess what assistance the airline had been able to provide to the tourism sectors in Uganda and Rwanda.
