Mpumalanga Parks Week 2026: Free Entry to Selected Nature Reserves

Visitors to Mpumalanga will be able to explore selected provincial nature reserves free of charge during Mpumalanga Parks Week 2026, from 14 to 20 September.

The annual initiative by the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency (MTPA) gives visitors free access to 10 participating reserves during the Parks Week 2026 period.

The participating sites are:

The free-access offer is for day visitors. Visitors wishing to stay overnight must pay the normal accommodation rates. This distinction has also applied to previous MTPA Parks Week campaigns.

For travellers already exploring Mpumalanga, the initiative provides an opportunity to visit some of the province's provincial reserves without the usual day-entry charge.

Travellers should check the latest access arrangements with MTPA before visiting, particularly if they are planning a visit to one of the more remote reserves.
