Tanzania: Kilimanjaro International Airport introduced new time-consuming visa processing rules

The government of Tanzania has introduced new visa processing rules at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), which serves the cities of Arusha and Moshi in the north of the East African country. International travellers entitled to get their visa on arrival now need to complete the following process:

• Queue for a Government Control Number
• Pay for the Government Control Number at a bank
• Queue for Immigration to check and issue the visa

The changes at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) mean that the visa on arrival process can take in excess of two hours. Travellers planning to visit Tanzania can also apply for their visa online. The process usually takes two to three weeks.

flydubai to introduce flights between Dubai <> Kilimanjaro!

Low-cost airline flydubai from Dubai is set to introduce scheduled flights between Dubai International Airport (DXB) in Dubai and Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), an international airport in northern Tanzania that serves the cities of Arusha and Moshi, on 29 October 2017. Kilimanjaro International Airport will be served with six flights a week three of which are via a stop in Tanzania's capital, Dar es Salaam. In addition, flydubai will increase direct flights to Zanzibar from three to eight flights a week.

Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) is the major gateway to the Kilimanjaro region, a main international tourism destination that includes Mount Kilimanjaro, Arusha National Park, Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park. flydubai will be the first airline to provide direct air links between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Kilimanjaro region.

Fastjet to resume flights between Kilimanjaro <> Nairobi!

According to aviation specialists airlineroute.net, Fastjet is set to resume flights between Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), which serves the cities of Arusha and Moshi in northern Tanzania, and Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) in Nairobi, Kenya, on 03 November 2016. The airline will operate will operate two flights per week between the two destinations on board an Airbus A319.

Fastjet to launch flights between Kilimanjaro (Tanzania) <> Entebbe (Uganda)

Tanzania-based low cost-airline Fastjet is set to introduce scheduled flights between Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), which serves the Tanzanian cities of Arusha and Moshi, and the principal international airport of Uganda, Entebbe International Airport (EBB) in Entebbe. From 31 March 2015 the airline will operate three weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays between the two destinations.

Tanzania: Fastjet to launch flights between Mwanza <> Kilimanjaro

Tanzania-based low cost-airline Fastjet is set to introduce its fourth domestic route. From 30 March 2015 the airline will operate four flights a week between Mwanza Airport (MWZ) in Mwanza and Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), which serves the cities of Arusha and Moshi.
Flights between the two destinations are open for booking (flight dates: 30March – 31 May 2015).

KLM to increase service to Kilimanjaro (Tanzania)

Dutch flag carrier, KLM, will increase its service between Amsterdam and Kilimanjaro International Airport in Tanzania. Due to strong demand, the airline will operate 9 weekly flights (instead of currently daily flights) from 27 Dec 2012 until 10 March 2013. The additional direct service will be operated by a McDonnell Douglas MD-11 as terminator service.
