Air Seychelles to resume operations between Seychelles <> South Africa!

The Government of the Republic of Seychelles has revised its advisory that restricted travel from South Africa, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia and Zimbabwe to curb the spread of the Omicron variant of Covid-19 on 06 January 2022. The national airline of the island nation, Air Seychelles, is set to resume commercial passenger services between the Seychelles and South Africa on 11 January 2022. The airline will operate one weekly flight between Seychelles International Airport (SEZ), located on the island of Mahé near the capital city of Victoria, and OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg.

Air Seychelles to re-instate flights to South Africa!

The national airline of the Republic of Seychelles, Air Seychelles, has announced the resumption of its commercial passenger services between the Seychelles and South Africa, following the recent announcement made by Seychelles' Ministry of Health allowing travel between the two countries as from 13 September 2021. Effective from 24 September 2021, the airline will operate twice weekly flights between Seychelles International Airport (SEZ), located on the island of Mahé near the capital city of Victoria, and OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg. Flights between the Seychelles and Johannesburg will take place on Fridays and Sundays, while the return flight from Johannesburg to the Seychelles will be on Saturdays and Sunday afternoons.
All travellers to the Seychelles must present a negative PCR test, taken within 72 hours prior to departure. The completed Health Travel Authorization approval at seychelles.govtas.com must also be presented upon check-in prior to departure from Johannesburg. All travellers to South Africa must produce a negative PCR test taken not more than 72 hours, must download the COVID Alert South Africa app in addition to completing the Entry Screening Traveller Health Questionnaire available at www.airports.co.za before departure from Seychelles. Travellers must also provide proof of accommodation, address in South Africa including their Covid-19 travel insurance.

Air Seychelles has resumed flights to Johannesburg!

The national airline of the Republic of Seychelles, Air Seychelles, has resumed scheduled services between Seychelles International Airport (SEZ) on the island of Mahé near the capital city of Victoria and OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg on Saturday, 07 November 2020. The airline operates one weekly return flight to Johannesburg during November 2020 and will increase services to three weekly on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays in December 2020.
Air Seychelles has alsp announced that the airline will operate passenger services from Johannesburg to the Maldives between 04 December 2020 and 09 January 2021.

South African Airways expands codeshare with Air Seychelles to New York!

South Africa's flag carrier, South African Airways, and the national airline of the Republic of Seychelles, Air Seychelles, have expanded their codeshare agreement to cover flights to New York effective 01 November 2019. Under the agreement, Air Seychelles will place its "HM" code on South African Airways daily services between OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg and John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York, providing travellers seamless connection on flights to and from the Seychelles. The codeshare agreement between the two airlines has been in existence since 2013.

Air Seychelles & South African Airways have expanded their codeshare partnership!

The national airline of the Republic of Seychelles, Air Seychelles, and the national airline of South Africa, South African Airways, have expanded their codeshare partnership effective 29 May 2019. Under the agreement, Air Seychelles is placing its "HM" code on South African Airways' daily services to Perth in Australia and to Windhoek in Namibia. Passengers can reach both new destinations with one ticket, covering sectors flown by South African Airways and by Air Seychelles. Baggage can be checked through to the final destination.

Air Seychelles to suspend operations between the Seychelles and Durban!

The national airline of the Republic of Seychelles, Air Seychelles, will suspend its direct service between Seychelles International Airport (SEZ) on the island of Mahé and King Shaka International Airport (DUR) in Durban, effective 27 July 2017. According to the press release by the airline, the performance of the twice-weekly operation and its contribution to inbound tourism in the Seychelles did not meet company expectations.
Travellers will still be able to travel easily between Durban and the Seychelles via a short stop in Johannesburg, thanks to a codeshare agreement between Air Seychelles and South African Airways.

Air Seychelles to launch direct flights to Durban!

The national airline of the Republic of Seychelles, Air Seychelles, is set to launch a direct schelduled service between Seychelles International Airport (SEZ) on the island of Mahé and King Shaka International Airport (DUR) in Durban. Flights will commence on 30 March 2017. The airline will operate two flights per week on board an Airbus A320 in a two-cabin configuration between the two destinations. Durban will be Air Seychelles' second route in South Africa after OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg (five flights/week).

Air Seychelles launched twice-weekly service to Dar es Salaam (Tanzania)

The national airline of the Republic of Seychelles, Air Seychelles, has launched a twice-weekly service between Seychelles International Airport (SEZ) on the island of Mahé and Julius Nyerere International Airport (DAR) in Dar es Salaam in Tanzania on 03 December 2014. The route is operated by an Airbus A320 aircraft in a two-class configuration, with 16 seats in Business Class and 120 seats in Economy Class.

South African Airways & Air Seychelles extend codeshare network

South Africa's flag carrier, South African Airways (SAA), and the national airline of the Seychelles, Air Seychelles, have extended their codeshare agreement. The new deal will see Air Seychelles place its "HM" code on 18 SAA flights per week between Johannesburg and Cape Town, Durban, and Port Elizabeth, and five SAA flights per week between Johannesburg and East London. South African Airways in turn will place its "SA" code on six Air Seychelles flights per week between Mahé and Praslin.
South African Airways and Air Seychelles have also partnered on five additional flights between Mahé and Johannesburg on 14/21/28 December 2013 and 04/11 January 2014 to cater for the busy holiday season.
South African Airways and Air Seychelles first entered into their codeshare agreement in April 2013.

South African Airways and Air Seychelles to codeshare

South Africa's flag carrier, South African Airways, and the national airline of the Seychelles, Air Seychelles, have signed a codeshare agreement. In the first phase of the agreement, South African Airways will place its code (SA) on Air Seychelles' non-stop flights between Johannesburg and Seychelles International Airport on the island of Mahé. The airline will also place its code on flights between the two largest islands of Seychelles, Mahé and Praslin, subject to approvals.
Under the codeshare, passengers from South Africa can currently travel from 26 South African destinations to the Seychelles on a single ticket.
In a later extension of the partnership, South African Airways' direct flights from Johannesburg to other South African destinations may also carry Air Seychelles' code (HM). Ticket sales are set to open on 29 April 2013, for travel from 30 April 2013.

Air Seychelles to double flights to Johannesburg

update (14 Aug 2012): Air Seychelles has announced that it will add extra Johannesburg flights to its January 2013 schedule (05, 07, 12 January 2013) for travellers returning to South Africa after their summer holidays.

The national airline of the Seychelles, Air Seychelles, will double its Seychelles International Airport <> Johannesburg services to four return flights a week from 01 December 2012. The airline originally planned to increase the number of flights in 2013 when their second Airbus A330-200 will be delivered, but due to rising demand and a projected boom over the busy holiday season, Air Seychelles reassessed the schedule to find a way to increase the frequency earlier.
