Malawi's flag carrier Air Malawi will resume its flights between Blantyre <> Johannesburg on 18 March 2012. The airline stopped operating on the route in November 2011 because of various reasons (see blogpost from 14 Nov 2011).
Air Malawi has leased a Boeing 737-500 aircraft from South Africa for use on the route, which will initially be serviced four times a week on on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The airline plans to to increase flights between Blantyre <> Johannesburg gradually.
