The flag carrier and largest airline of the Russian Federation, Aeroflot, will end its Angola operations. The airline will be operating its last service on the Sheremetyevo International Airport (Moscow, Russian Federation) – Hurghada (Egypt) – Luanda (Angola ) route on 16 Oct 2012 (last flight from Luanda will be on 17 Oct 2012).
Aeroflot is currently operating scheduled passenger and cargo flights from its main hub at Sheremetyevo International Airport to 52 countries, serving 116 destinations. The airline joined SkyTeam in April 2006, becoming the 10th member of the international airline alliance.

KLM to reduce Amsterdam <> Cape Town service
The flag carrier of the Netherlands, KLM, will reduce its Amsterdam <> Cape Town service from 5 weekly flights during the (European) winter season to 4 weekly flights during the (European) summer season starting 01 May 2013. KLM will operate the route on-board a Boeing 777-200ER.

Kenya Airways opens new lounge at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport
Kenya's flag carrier Kenya Airways has announced the opening of a new lounge for SkyTeam Platinum and Gold Card Holders at Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. The lounge has the capacity to accommodate up to 90 passengers, who will enjoy complimentary food and drinks, a hot shower, high speed WiFi, DSTV and more.
SkyTeam is an airline alliance founded in 2000 by Aeroméxico, Air France, Delta Air Lines and Korean Air. The alliance has grown to become the second largest airline alliance in the world (in passenger number terms and members), behind Star Alliance and ahead of Oneworld. New flights to Botswana via Kenya
Kenya Airways in partnership with Air Botswana will launch flights to Gaborone (Nairobi at 07h20 > Gaborone at 10h20 | Gaborone at 11h05 > Nairobi at 17h05) in September this year. The thrice weekly flights will operate on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays under a code share arrangement with Air Botswana. All flights are going via Harare, Zimbabwe.
The service will open Botswana to the entire network SkyTeam’s member airlines serves. SkyTeam is a network of Aeroflot, AeroMexico, AirFrance/KLM, ALLItalia, China Southern, Continental Airlines, Czech Airlines, Delta & Korean Airlines. Kenya Airways is an associate of the networt, as well as Air Europa & Copa Airlines.
