British Airways increases London–Cape Town flights for northern summer 2027

British Airways will increase its London Heathrow–Cape Town service from seven to 10 flights per week during the 2027 summer season, giving travellers more flexibility when planning trips between the UK and South Africa.

The additional frequencies will be useful for travellers using Cape Town as the starting or final point of a Southern African itinerary, as well as those connecting through London Heathrow from other destinations.

There is an important seasonal distinction. The increase to 10 weekly flights applies to summer 2027. British Airways is separately scheduled to operate up to 21 flights per week between London Heathrow and Cape Town during the 2026/27 Northern Hemisphere winter, from December 2026.

The 10-weekly summer schedule therefore represents an increase compared with the previous summer schedule, rather than a year-round increase to 10 flights per week.

British Airways is also expanding its wider African network for summer 2027, including the return of flights to Tanzania.
