Table Mountain National Park: New operating hours for the Cape of Good Hope/Cape Point Section

South African National Parks (SANParks) today announced that the operating hours for the Cape of Good Hope/Cape Point Section in Cape Town's Table Mountain National Park have been amended. The new operating hours are as follows:

• Gates open at 07:00 and close at 17:00, with the last vehicles to exit the park by 18:00.

There are three operating lanes at the entry point, with numerous Covid-19 screening and operational staff to ensure that the entry to the Cape of Goodhope/Cape Point Section runs smoothly and quickly.  

Covid-19 protocols remain in place.

• Maintain social distancing of at least 1.5m
• Wear your masks at all times. No mask, no entry!
• Users are encouraged to sanitize their hands at all times.

Augrabies Falls National Park: New operating hours for the Park's only fuel station!

update (04 September 2019): Please note that fuel supply is currently limited as Total are experiencing some strikes at their workplace and deliveries are therefore delayed.

According to a Facebook posting by the Regional Communications Manager: Arid Parks at South African National Parks, the operating hours of the only fuel station inside Augrabies Falls National Park in South Africa's Northern Cape have changed. The new operating hours are daily from 07:30 - 13:00 and from 13:30 to 15:30. The fuel station is located in the Park's main camp.

 
Augrabies Falls National Park is located around its main attraction, the Augrabies Falls, about 120 km west of Upington in South Africa's Northern Cape. The Park covers an area of 820 km² and stretches along the Orange River.

South Africa/eSwatini: Oshoek/Ngwenya border post to extend operating hours!

According to a join statement by South Africa's and eSwatini's Ministers of Home Affairs, Dr Aaron Motsoaledi and Her Royal Highness Princess Lindiwe, the Oshoek/Ngwenya border post will change operating hours. Once South Africa's Department of Home Affairs has concluded consultations with the country's Department of Health and the Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development on the extension the operating hours, the border post will open gates at 06:00 instead of the current 07:00. eSwatini's Ministry of Home Affairs is already prepared to extend the operating hours by one hour. Both countrys also agreed to make the the border post operational 24 hrs a day in near future.



The Oshoek/Ngwenya border post is currently the busiest port of entry between South Africa and eSwatini and has also been identified for infrastructure upgrade as part of South Africa's One-Stop Border Posts programme.
