South Africa: Airlink to launch a new service to the Democratic Republic of the Congo!

South African regional airline Airlink is set to launch a new service to the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The airline will introduce a new service between OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg and N'djili Airport (FIH) in Kinshasa. Airlink’s new service will operate three times a week with modern 98-seat Embraer E190 twin-engined aircraft. Flights will commence on 28 March 2025.

Qatar Airways increases flights to Luanda (Angola)!

Qatar Airways, the flag carrier of Qatar, has announced that it will extend the frequency of flights between Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Doha and Quatro de Fevereiro International Airport (LAD) in Luanda, the capital of Angola. According to the airline, Luanda will see a frequency increase from one weekly flight to four weekly flights with a combined service to N'djili Airport (FIH) in Kinshasa in the DR Congo which Qatar Airways will serve for the first time. The frequency increase on the Luanda route and the launch of flights to Kinshasa will both commmence on 01 June 2024.

Congo Airways to launch flights between Kinshasa <> Johannesburg!

The flag carrier of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Congo Airways, is set to launch flights between N'djili Airport (FIH) in Kinshasa and OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg. Effective 28 February 2018, the airline will operate three weekly flights using an Airbus A320-200, with 10 seats in business class and 150 in economy. The new service to Johannesburg marks Congo Airways' international debut!

South African Airways to increase flights to five African destinations

South Africa's flag carrier, South African Airways (SAA), will increase the number of flights to five of its African destinations. The frequencies that will be increased are as follows:

• Johannesburg <> Kinshasa, DR Congo
  from four flights per week to six (10 Dec 2013)
• Johannesburg <> Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
  from 12 flights per week to 13 flights per week (13 Dec 2013)
• Johannesburg <> Windhoek, Namibia
  from 20 flights per week to 21 flights per week (12 Jan 2014)
• Johannesburg <> Ndola, Zambia
  from 19 flights per week to 20 flights per week (13 Jan 2014)
• Johannesburg <> Lusaka, Zambia
  from 19 flights per week to 20 flights per week (14 Jan 2014)

From 07 Dec 2013 South African Airways (SAA) will no longer operate its own aircraft between Johannesburg and Kigali (Rwanda). The airline's new codeshare partner, RwandAir, will service the route instead.
