Cape Town ranks among the Top 10 Digital Nomad destinations for 2025!

Cape Town in South Africa has been ranked among the Top 10 destinations for Digital Nomads in 2025 by UK-based travel company Big 7 Travel/Enjoy Travel. The ranking was based on factors such as internet speed, safety, co-working spaces, cost of living, digital nomad community, events and meet-ups, visa availability (including cost, requirements, and acceptance rate), and the length of tourist visas. Out of 25 destinations worldwide, Cape Town secured the 6th spot on the list.

According to Big 7 Travel/Enjoy Travel, digital nomads in Cape Town get the best of both worlds: "No need to choose between the mountains or the beach – you can have both in Cape Town." With the newly introduced 3-year digital nomad visa, high-speed Wi-Fi, and a thriving co-working culture, Cape Town is an attractive destination for remote workers looking for adventure and affordability. The estimated cost of living is around €1,100 (approx. R21,170 | GBP 920 || USD1,150) per month.

South Africa officially launched its Remote Work Visa, also known as the Digital Nomad Visa, in May 2024. This visa allows foreign nationals to reside in South Africa while working remotely for employers or clients outside the country. The visa is valid for up to three years and is renewable. To qualify, applicants must be employed by a foreign company or work as freelancers with international clients and meet the minimum annual income requirement of ZAR 650,976 (approx. GBP29,000 | EUR34,000 | USD35,000).

Applications must be submitted in person at a South African embassy or a Visa Facilitation Services Centre in the applicant's country of origin or long-term residence.

Two South African burger restaurants are on the World’s Best Burger list!

Global travel website Big 7 Travel has released its list of the best burgers in the world for 2022. Based on a ranking system that considers editorial experience, critic reviews, customer feedback, location and accessibility, presentation, value for money and atmosphere, the list consists of 50 burger restaurants from locations from around the globe. Two burger joints from South Africa made it to Big 7 Travel's list - Smokin’ Joe’s in Durban was ranked 12th best burger (and Africa's best) while The Dogs Bollocks in Cape Town came in on rank 34. Congratulations!
Overall winner of the ranking is Royal Stacks in Melbourne, Australia, followed by Midcity Smashedburger from Portland in Oregon (USA) and Burger Creek in Auckland, New Zealand.

South Africa: This beach in Cape Town is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world!

Global travel website Big 7 Travel has released its annual list of "The 50 Best Beaches In The World". The list is currently in its fourth year, using aggregated scores from previous media results, official Blue Flag locations, social media popularity and contributions from the Big 7 Travel editorial team. According to Big 7 travel's list, Boulders Beach in Cape Town, is the world's ninth best beach.

According to Big 7 Travel, Cape Town in South Africa is the fifth sexiest city in the world. The international travel company recently released a list of the 50 sexiest cities in the world. Big 7 Travel ranked the cities according to the cities having the most sex; the most sexual toy searches online; the best cities for single people; the sexiest nationalities in the world; highest number of romantic spots and opinions from their 2.5 million readers.

Home to the second sexiest accent in the world and some of the sexiest people on this planet, South Africa certainly does its part in helping make the world a more sensual place. In fact, one study showed that South Africans came in third globally for the highest number of Google searches for sex toys, trailing the US and the UK. Australia was named the World's most instagramable country, followed by Hong Kong, Canada and Indonesia. To create the list of the most instagrammable countries 2019, Big 7 Travel used a comprehensive scoring system that analysed the amount of hashtags per destination, survey results of about 1.5-million Big 7 Media readers, and votes cast by a panel of travel experts.
