Namibia's flag carrier Air Namibia has recently signed a code share agreement with Air Nigeria for seamless flights on the Southern Africa routes, with a connecting flight from Windhoek, the capital of Namibia. Air Nigeria (formerly Nigerian Eagle Airlines and Virgin Nigeria Airways), is the national flag carrier of Nigeria. The airline has already code share agreements with Ethiopian Airlines, Kenya Airways and Delta Air Lines.
Air Namibia's Executive Officer (CEO), Ms Theo Namase, told reporters in Lagos that there would be direct flights between Nigeria and Namibia soon, adding that, in the meantime, the airline is using Accra, the Ghanaian capital, to link its destinations. Air Namibia commenced operations in West Africa into Accra in November 2010.
