Malawi: Ulendo Airlink to launch flights between Lilongwe <> Blantyre! [update]

update (01 October 2019): Ulendo Airlink launched the new service between
Kamuzu International Airport (LLW) in Lilongwe and Chileka International Airport (BLZ) in Blantyre today!

Ulendo Airlink, a local charter airline based in Malawi, is set to introduce scheduled flights between Kamuzu International Airport (LLW) in Lilongwe and Chileka International Airport (BLZ) in Blantyre. Effective 23 September 2019, the airline will initially operate 14 return frequencies per week on board a 15-Seater Dornier 228. The schedule of the new domestic service will be slightly adjusted as soon as the runway reconstruction at Chileka International Airport (CLZ) in Blantyre is completed.
Ulendo Airlink also plans to launch a four-weekly return service from Kamuzu International Airport (LLW) in Lilongwe to the Southern Lakeshore (Lake Malawi) and Liwonde National Park in April 2020.
Back in July 2019, the airline introduced a new triangle service between Kamuzu International Airport (LLW) in Lilongwe, Mzuzu Airport (ZZU) in Mzuzu in the Northern Region of Malawi and Likoma Airport (LIX) on Likoma Island in Lake Malawi.

Ulendo Airlink: Daily flights between Lilongwe & Blantyre (Malawi)

Ulendo Airlink has launched daily flights between Lilongwe and Blantyre in Malawi. From today (16 Sept 2013) the airline operates an early morning shuttle service between the two destinations. Flights from Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe to Chileka Airport in Blantyre depart at 07:15am and arrive at 08:00am. The return flights depart Blantyre at 08:30am with a scheduled arrival time in Lilongwe of 09:15. The route provides opportunity for tourists travelling to Malawi to cover what would otherwise be a 6 hour drive, in just 45 minutes. In case the market demand for flights between Lilongwe and Blantyre is increasing, Ulendo Airlink is considering to introduce additional afternoon and evening flights as well as a larger aircraft.

Ulendo Airlink launches scheduled flights in Malawi

Nyasa Express Limited, trading as “Ulendo Airlink”, commenced regular scheduled flight services between Malawi’s major commercial centres of Lilongwe and Blantyre from the beginning of July 2011, having secured the required licenses and authority from the Ministry of Transport in April 2011.
Ulendo Airlink will initially fly 7 times a week between Lilongwe and Blantyre, with 2 services each weekend linking both Lilongwe and Blantyre to Club Makokola while our schedules to Likoma Island will offer passengers 6 frequencies each week. Flight times have been planned to offer connections to international flights from Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe to Johannesburg, Nairobi and Addis Ababa.
