West Africa: ASKY Airlines to launch flights to South Africa!

West African airline, ASKY Airlines, is set to launch to new routes to South Africa in June 2019. From it's hub at Lomé–Tokoin Airport (LFW) in Lomé, Togo, the airline will operate a three weekly return service via Murtala Muhammed International Airport (LOS) in Lagos, Nigeria, and Douala International Airport (DLA) in Douala, Cameroon, to OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg. The service commence on 16 June 2019. On 15 June 2019, ASKY Airlines will launch a four weekly return service between Lomé–Tokoin Airport (LFW) in Lomé and OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg via Murtala Muhammed International Airport (LOS) in Lagos and Léon-Mba International Airport (LBV) in Libreville, Gabon.

Ethiopian Airlines to launch flights to Houston (USA)! [update]

update (13 September 2019): Ethiopian Airlines has once again re-opened reservations for its new service between Addis AbabaLomé Houston. The new launch date is 16 December 2019.

update (26 August 2019): Ethiopian Airlines has removed Houston bookings, previously scheduled from 14 December 2019.

Bole International Airport (ADD) in Addis Ababa and George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Houston in Texas (USA) via Lomé–Tokoin Airport (LFW) in Lomé on 14 December 2019. Flights will be operated on board a Boeing 787-8 aircraft.

update (08 May 2019): According to RoutesOnline, Ethiopian Airlines has closed reservation for its planned service between Bole International Airport (ADD) in Addis Ababa and George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Houston in Texas (USA) via Lomé–Tokoin Airport (LFW) in Lomé, scheduled to commence on 23 June 2019.

According to RoutesOnline, Ethiopian Airlines is set to launch scheduled services between Bole International Airport (ADD) in Addis Ababa and George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Houston in Texas (USA) via Lomé–Tokoin Airport (LFW) in Lomé, Togo. Effective 23 June 2019, the airline will operate this route three times a week. Ethiopian Airlines currently operates flights to four destinations in the United States (Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Chicago and New York City) as well as to Toronto in Canada.

Ethiopian Airlines: Flight from Addis Ababa to Los Angeles to transit via Lome in Togo!

Ethiopia's flag carrier, Ethiopian Airlines, announced that it has changed the ultra-long haul route from Bole International Airport (ADD) in Addis Ababa to Los Angeles International Airpor (LAX) in Los Angeles to transit through Tokoin International Airport (LFW) in Lome, Togo as of 17 December 2018 and will start new route from Addis Ababa to Dublin Airport (DUB) in Dublin via Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport (MAD) in Madrid as of 15 December 2018. 
The new route, which be operated on board the most technologically advanced Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, will be the only and first of its kind to connect West Africa with the West Coast of the USA with a direct flight.

Ethiopian Airlines to launch flights to Brazil

Ethiopia's flag carrier, Ethiopian Airlines, will launch new services to Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro in Brazil as of 01 July 2013. Flights to Brazil will be operated through the airline's second hub in Lomé, Togo, three times a week. The addition of Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro will bring the number of Ethiopian Airlines' international destinations across five continents to 74. The flights will be the only connection between West Africa and Brazil.
Ethiopian Airlines and its partner airline in West Africa, ASKY Airlines, will be coordinating their schedules to give short, seamless and convenient connections to West Africa passengers travelling to and from Brazil.
Passengers to and from Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro will be able to get convenient connections to destinations in Ethiopian Airlines' route network such as Lomé (Togo), Kinshasa (DR Congo), Kigali (Rwanda), Maputo (Mozambique), Abidjan (Senegal), Nairobi (Kenya), Lagos (Nigeria) and Dar es Salaam (Tanzania).
