FlyNamibia boosts Windhoek–Victoria Falls and Maun services from April 2026

FlyNamibia will significantly expand its regional network from April 2026, strengthening air connectivity between Namibia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe and improving access to some of Southern Africa’s most sought-after safari destinations.

The airline will double its Windhoek–Victoria Falls service, increasing frequencies from three to six flights per week. In addition, the Windhoek–Maun–Katima Mulilo route will operate four times weekly - on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Windhoek – Victoria Falls: More Access to an Iconic Destination

The enhanced service to Victoria Falls provides greater flexibility for travellers visiting one of Africa’s most iconic natural attractions, the Victoria Falls.

For leisure travellers, tour operators, and safari planners, the additional frequencies allow smoother itinerary planning, easier short-stay combinations, and improved onward connections across the region.

Strengthening the Namibia–Botswana–Zimbabwe Safari Corridor

The expanded Windhoek–Maun–Katima Mulilo rotation strengthens links between:

• Windhoek – Namibia’s primary international gateway
• Maun – gateway to the Okavango Delta
• Katima Mulilo – strategic hub in the Zambezi Region

Maun serves as the aviation hub for access to the Okavango Delta, while Katima Mulilo plays a key role in connecting Namibia's Zambezi Region with northern Botswana and southern Zambia.

By increasing frequencies, FlyNamibia is reinforcing cross-border tourism flows and supporting multi-country safari itineraries - particularly popular with European and regional travellers seeking seamless air access rather than long overland transfers.

FlyNamibia and Fastjet partner to connect Windhoek and Harare via Victoria Falls!

Namibian regional airline FlyNamibia has announced a new partnership with Fastjet, a leading Southern African carrier, to offer passengers seamless travel between Windhoek (Namibia) and Harare (Zimbabwe) via Victoria Falls. The new connection officially launched on 01 November 2025.

This collaboration marks a significant step towards strengthening regional air connectivity in Southern Africa, enhancing both business and tourism travel between Namibia and Zimbabwe. It also reinforces Victoria Falls' growing role as a strategic aviation hub.

Under the agreement, FlyNamibia’s Windhoek–Victoria Falls service will be fully synchronized with Fastjet’s Victoria Falls–Harare flights, allowing travellers to enjoy smooth, same-day connections between the two capital cities. The coordinated schedule is designed to minimize layovers and simplify travel planning for both business and leisure passengers.

The new partnership complements FlyNamibia’s expanding route network, which currently includes domestic destinations such as Ondangwa, Katima Mulilo, and Lüderitz, as well as regional routes to Maun (Botswana) and Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe).

Looking ahead, FlyNamibia has also confirmed plans to increase its Victoria Falls service to six weekly flights from April 2026, providing greater flexibility and more travel options for regional and international visitors alike.

With this strategic alliance, FlyNamibia and Fastjet are paving the way for a more connected and accessible Southern Africa, supporting the region’s shared vision of growth through tourism and trade.

Namibia: FlyNamibia resumed flights to Lüderitz!

Namibian privately-owned domestic and regional carrier FlyNamibia has resumed weekday flights to the coastal town of Lüderitz in the Karas Region of southern Namibia. The resumption of the domestic flights is in partnership with TotalEnergies EP. The new service between Eros Airport (ERS) in Windhoek and Lüderitz Airport (LAD) in Lüderitz was launched on 15 October 2024. FlyNamibia operates daily return flights from Monday through Friday between the two destinations.
Lüderitz Airport (LAD) is located about 9 km southeast of the center of town, on the B4 road.

Namibia: FlyNamibia launches flights to Botswana! [update #2]

update (14 June 2024): FlyNamibia has announced that from 03 July 2024 flights to Katima Mulilo will move from Eros Airport (ERS) to Hosea Kutako International Airport (WDH). Selected flights between Windhoek and Maun will operate on the route Windhoek - Maun - Katima Mulilo - Windhoek. Direct flights to Katima Mulilo will resume on specific dates starting in November 2024.

update (08 May 2024): FlyNamibia will operate flights between Windhoek and Maun from 03 July 2024 until 31 October 2024.

Namibian domestic and regional carrier FlyNamibia is set to launch flights to Botswana. The airline will operate three weekly direct flights on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays between Hosea Kutako International Airport (WDH) in Windhoek and Maun Airport (MUB) in Maun. Flights will depart Windhoek at 10:15 and arrive in Maun at 11:15, while the return flights will depart Maun at 12:15 and arrive in Windhoek at 13:15. FlyNamibia's new route to Botswana will commence on 03 July 2024.

Maun Airport (MUB) is is situated in Maun in Botswana's North West District. The airport is the second busiest airport in the country in terms of passenger traffic and the main gateway to the famous Okavango Delta, the Moremi Game Reserve and other parts of the North West District.

Namibia: FlyNamibia to resume flights between Windhoek <> Walvis Bay!

Namibian domestic and regional carrier FlyNamibia has announced that it will resume flights to Walvis Bay, second largest city in Namibia and the largest coastal city in the country. The airline will operate four weekly flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays between Hosea Kutako International Airport (WDH) in Windhoek and Walvis Bay International Airport (WVB) in Walvis Bay. Flights are open for booking and will commence on 01 April 2024. FlyNamibia suspended flights between Eros Airport (ERS) in Windhoek and Walvis Bay in August 2023 due to a lack of demand.

Namibia: FlyNamibia adjusts Windhoek <> Katima Mulilo schedule!

Namibian domestic and regional carrier FlyNamibia has announced that it will adjust the schedule of its service between Eros Windhoek (ERS) in Windhoek and Katima Mulilo Airport (MPA) in Katima Mulilo, the capital of the Zambezi Region in Namibia. The departure time in Windhoek will be changed from 11:00 to 14:40 and the departure time in Katima Mulilo from 13:10 to 17:10. The new schedule becomes effective on 01 March 2024. FlyNamibia operates three weekly flights on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays between the two destinations.

Namibia: FlyNamibia set to launch flights to Zimbabwe!

Namibian domestic and regional carrier FlyNamibia is set to introduce a new service to Zimbabwe. The airline will launch a three-weekly service between Hosea Kutako International Airport (WDH) in Windhoek and Victoria Falls International Airport (VFA) in Victoria Falls. Effective 04 April 2024, FlyNamibia will operate return flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays to Victoria Falls.

Namibia: FlyNamibia has three new regional destinations on the cards for 2024!

The Managing Director of FlyNamibia, Andre Compion, announced in Jon Howell's AviaDev Insight Africa podcast that FlyNamibia has three new regional destinations on the cards for 2024. According to Mr Compion, as from April 2024 the airline will be servicing Maun Airport (MUB) in Maun, Botswana, and Victoria Falls International Airport (VFA) in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, out of Hosea Kutako International Airport (WDH) in Windhoek. He further announced that FlyNamibia is also in the final phase of introducing flights to Luanda in Angola in 2025.

Namibia: FlyNamibia launches a new service to South Africa! [update]

update (22 September 2023): FlyNamibia's new service will be connecting Windhoek and Walvis Bay to Cape Town. Flights will be operated every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. According to Namibian publication "The Brief", FlyNamibia announced the following today (22 September 2023): "The new route’s flights will run from Hosea Kutako International Airport (HKIA) to Cape Town (CPT), and onwards to Walvis Bay (WVB). From here the flight will then link back to Hosea Kutako International Airport, back to Walvis Bay, onward to Cape Town and returning once again to Hosea Kutako International. Thus the CPT-WVB route will be extended from WVB to HKIA and then back to WVB, providing WVB with flights to Windhoek once again. This will enable connecting traffic from all flights inbound to HKIA to fly to WVB."

Namibian domestic and regional carrier FlyNamibia is set to introduce a new service to South Africa. The airline, which is now a franchisee of South African regional airline Airlink, will launch flights between Walvis Bay International Airport (WVB) in Walvis Bay and Cape Town International Airport (CPT) in Cape Town. Effective 29 October 2023, the FlyNamibia is planning to operate four weekly return flights to the Mother City.

FlyNamibia, under its previous brand FlyWestair, was the first private airline to be granted scheduled passenger airline status in Namibia. The airline has been operational since June 2019 and has expanded its network of flights to include domestic routes from Eros Airport (ERS) in Windhoek to Ondangwa, Rundu, Katima Mulilo and Oranjemund, as well as a regional route from Hosea Kutako International Airport (WDH) in Windhoek to Cape Town International Airport (CPT) in Cape Town.
FlyNamibia announced in September 2022 that it is partnering with South African private airline Airlink. The airlines' shareholding will continue to be majority-owned by Namibian private investors, with a minority shareholding now being held by Airlink. As an Airlink franchisee, FlyNamibia's flight inventory in now available on the Global Distribution System (GDS). The airline has also launched a new booking platform, which is linked to Airlink and the GDS. FlyNamibia also joined the prestigious International Air Transport Association (IATA).

Namibia: FlyNamibia is set to extend its regional network in Southern Africa! [update]

update (18 September 2023): FlyNamibia is set to lauch scheduled non-stop services between Walvis Bay International Airport (WVB) in Walvis Bay and Cape Town International Airport (CPT) in Cape Town on 29 October 2023.

According to news reports from Namibia, regional carrier FlyNamibia is planing to introduce scheduled flights between Windhoek and Luanda in Angola and between Windhoek and Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. Namibian newspaper "Windhoek Express" quotes Fly Namibia's managing director André Compion saying that flights to Victoria Falls are "next on the cards" and flights to Luanda will be introduced "in this year". FlyNamibia is also set to add Walvis Bay to its Windhoek <> Cape Town service in the next couple of weeks The airline is also looking at flights to Gaborone in Botswana and Durban in South Africa. André Compion further said that FlyNamibia is getting four more Embraer 145 regional jets. We'll keep you posted!

Namibian privately-owned airline FlyNamibia has annunced that it will launch a new service to the coastal town of Lüderitz in the Karas Region of southern Namibia. The airline is set to operate five weekly nonstop flights on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays between Eros Airport (ERS) in Windhoek and Lüderitz Airport (LAD), located about 9 km southeast of the center of town, on the B4 road. Flights will depart Windhoek at 07:15 and arrive in Lüderitz at 08:15, while flights from Lüderitz will depart at 13:30 and arrive in Windhoek at 14:30. Flights will commence on 03 July 2023.

Namibian privately-owned airline FlyNamibia has annunced that it will launch a new service to the coastal town of Walvis Bay in the Erongo Region of Namibia. The airline is set to operate three weekly nonstop flights on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between Eros Airport (ERS) in Windhoek and Walvis Bay International Airport (WVB) in Walvis Bay. Flights will depart Windhoek at 10:50 and arrive in Walvis Bay at 11:40, while the return flights will depart Walvis Bay at 12:20 and arrive in Windhoek at 13:10. Flights will commence on 28 October 2022.

South Africa/Namibia: Airlink invests in FlyNamibia!

South African airline Airlink is acquiring 40% strategic equity holding in privately-owned Namibian airline FlyNamibia at an undisclosed monetary sum. The investment is underpinned by a commercial franchise agreement under which FlyNamibia will adopt Airlink's "4Z" International Air Transport Association (IATA) designator for its ticket sales and scheduled flights, while retaining its corporate identity, brand and aircraft livery. It will also see FlyNamibia's inventory attaining higher visibility and being promoted on Airlink's computerised reservation system and on those of Airlink's international partner airlines. According to the press release, the changes will come into effect as soon as practicable, after which all existing bookings for FlyNamibia flights will be amended at no cost or inconvenience to customers. Airlink will also provide additional airline operations, technical and commercial skills training and development support for FlyNamibia. The two airlines will optimise their schedules to provide connections between their respective flights and with long-haul inter-continental flights provided by Airlink's other commercial partner airlines.

Namibian privately-owned airline FlyNamibia, previously known as FlyWestair, will introduce a new schedule between Eros Airport (ERS) in Windhoek and Rundu Airport (NDU) in Rundu, the capital of the Kavango Region in northeastern Namibia. Effective 23 February 2022, the airline will service this route on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Flights will depart Windhoek at 06:50 and arrive in Rundu at 08:20, while the return flights will depart Rundu at 09:00 and arrive in Windhoek at 10:30.

Namibian privately-owned airline FlyNamibia, previously known as FlyWestair, is set to increase its domestic frequencies between Eros Airport (ERS) in Windhoek and Andimba Toivo Ya Toivo Airport (OND) in Ondangwa in the Oshana Region of northern Namibia. Effective 24 February 2022, the airline will add afternoon flights on Tuesdays, Thursday, Fridays and Sundays. The additional flights will depart Windhoek at 16:00 and arrive in Ondangwa at 16:50, while the return flights will depart Ondangwa at 17:40 and arrive in Windhoek at 18:30.

Namibian privately-owned airline FlyNamibia, previously known as FlyWestair, is set to launch a safari schedule of daily connections between Eros Airport (ERS) in Windhoek and Etosha National Park, Sossusvlei in the southern part of the Namib Desert and the coastal city of Swakopmund. The new "safari routes" will be introduced in May 2022 April 2022. The airline is also planning to introduce daily flights to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe and to increase flights to Katima Mulilo in Namibia's Zambezi Region from the current three weekly flights to daily flights. Namibia: FlyWestair rebranded as FlyNamibia!

Namibian privately-owned airline Westair Aviation has announced the rebranding of its scheduled passenger airline FlyWestair to FlyNamibia. According to the airline, the name was changed to better reflect its role as trusted Namibian carrier. FlyWestair launched domestic operations in Namibia in June 2019. The airline offers domestic services in Namibia as well as regional flights to South Africa. FlyNamibia will continue operating FlyWestair's domestic and regional routes, with new destinations on the horizon. We'll keep you posted!
