Zimbabwe: FlyAfrica to resume flights between Harare <> Johannesburg!



According to the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC), low cost-carrier FlyAfrica will resume scheduled flights between Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport (HRE) in Harare and OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg as well as between Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo International Airport (BUQ) in Bulawayo and OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) on 15 April 2018. Zimbabwe's state-controlled broadcaster also reports that, according to FlyAfrica's executive chairman Mr Cassidy Mugwagwa, all the necessary regulatory approvals have been secured for the operations. Flyafrica (Namibia) to launch flights between Windhoek <> Cape Town!

flyafrica.com (Namibia) is set to launch flights to its second destination in South Africa on 02 November 2015. The airline has announced that it will operate three flights per week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between Hosea Kutako International Airport (WDH) in Windhoek and Cape Town International Airport (CPT) in Cape Town.
flyafrica.com (Namibia) also announced that it will increase the number of flights between Windhoek and Lanseria International Airport (HLA) in Johannesburg to five fights per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays from 16 November 2015.

flyafrica (Namibia) to resume flighs between Windhoek <> Johannesburg!

flyafrica.com (Namibia) resumes its service between Windhoek and Johannesburg today (14 September 2015). The airline now operates flights between Hosea Kutako International Airport (WDH) in Windhoek and Lanseria International Airport (HLA) in Johannesburg. A decision by Namibia's High Court required flyafrica.com (Namibia) to move operations from OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) to the privately owned international airport that is situated north of Randburg and Sandton to the north west of Johannesburg. flyafrica.com (Namibia) will initially operate three weekly flights between the two destinations on Monday, Wednesday and Friday with the airline committing to daily flights before November 2015.
To avoid any disruption to their passengers, flyafrica.com (Namibia) is offering a unique Sandton connection bus service. Passengers will be able to board a bus at the Sandton Gautrain station and go direct to Lanseria International Airport (HLA).

Namibia: High Court grounds FlyAfrica (Namibia) operations

Namibia's High Court in Windhoek on Friday (04 Sept 2015) ruled that flyafrica.com (Namibia) has not been licensed to operate in the country. The court ruled that the low budget carrier does not have the valid licence to fly passengers between Hosea Kutako International Airport (WDH) in Windhoek and OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg, South Africa.

flyafrica (Namibia): New launch date in September 2015!

flyafrica.com (Namibia) has finally been launched. From 02 September 2015 the newest member of the flyafrica.com family will operate scheduled flights between Hosea Kutako International Airport (WDH) in Windhoek and OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg. The airline will initially operate three flights per week between the two destinations.
flyafrica.com planned to start operations between Namibia and South Africa in March 2015, but due to certain legal wrangels the airline was forced to repeatedly delay its launch date.

FlyAfrica Zimbabwe's new route expansion plans!

update (23 July 2015): Low-cost carrier FlyAfrica Zimbabwe will launch flights between Harare <> Bulawayo  (6 weekly) on 10 Aug 2015, between Harare <> Lusaka (6 weekly) on 10 Aug 2015 and between Harare <> Lubumbashi (1 daily) on 14 Sept 2015!

Low-cost carrier FlyAfrica Zimbabwe today (01 June 2015) announced its new route expansion plans. The airline is set to operate six weekly fligths between Harare (Zimbabwe) and Lusaka (Zambia) from 27 July 2015, six weekly flights between Harare (Zimbabwe) and Bulawayo (Zimbabwe) from 27 July 2015 as well as daily fligths between Harare (Zimbabwe) and Lubumbashi (DR Congo) from 14 September 2015.
FlyAfrica Zimbabwe currently operates twice-daily flights between Harare (Zimbabwe) and Johannesburg (South Africa), daily flights between Bulawayo  (Zimbabwe) and Johannesburg (South Africa) and three weekly flights between Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) and Johannesburg (South Africa). FlyAfrica Zimbabwe also operates domestic flights between Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) and Harare (Zimbabwe). All flights are opera ted by the carrier's fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft.

FlyAfrica to introduce second daily flight Johannesburg <> Harare!

Low-cost carrier FlyAfrica.com is set to introduce a second daily service between OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg, and Harare International Airport (HRE) in Harare, Zimbabwe, on 30 March 2015. The new flight will depart Johannesburg at 16:00 daily, arriving in Harare at 17:35. The return flight departs Harare daily at 18:05 and arrives in Johannesburg at 19:40.

Flyafrica postpones flights to Namibia and Zambia!

Low cost carrier FlyAfrica.com has announced that it is still awaiting final government approval for flights to Namibia and Zambia. The airline has therefore cancelled all flights to Windhoek for six weeks from now. FlyAfrica.com offers passengers affected by the cancelation either a full refund or to issue a travel voucher for future flight on FlyAfrica.com at twice the base air fare value paid.
FlyAfrica.com also planned to launch flights between Johannesburg and Lusaka im Zambia, using fifth freedom rights between South Africa and Namibia. This process will also now be affected.

FlyAfrica to introduce daily flights between Victoria Falls <> Harare!

Low cost carrier FlyAfrica.com has announced that it will introduce daily flights between Victoria Falls International Airport in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, and Harare International Airport in Harare on 01 July 2015. The airline currently operates three direct flights per week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays between the two destinations.

FlyAfrica to introduce 11 regional routes in 2015

According to the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (zbc), FlyAfrica will introduce at least 11 new regional routes in 2015. These routes will - among others - include Harare <> Lusaka, Harare <> Dar es Salaam, Harare <> Lubumbashi, Johannesburg <> Windhoek, Victoria Falls <> Kilimanjaro and Victoria Falls <> Cape Town. The airline's second Boeing 737 500 aircraft has recently been registered with the local authority in Zimbabwe while the third aircraft will be registered by mid-February 2015.

FlyAfrica to launch flights Harare <> Victoria Falls!

FlyAfrica (FlyAfrica Zimbabwe) just announced that it will introduce its first domestic route in Zimbabwe. From 01 December 2014 the airline will operate daily flights between Victoria Falls and Harare. FlyAfrica  also announced that it has plans to expand its services to further destinations in Mozambique, Zambia, Tanzania and Malawi.

FlyAfrica set to launch flights Johannesburg <> Bulawayo!

update (12 Nov 2014): FlyAfrica just confirmed that it will launch daily flights between Bulawayo (BUQ) and Johannesburg (JNB) on 02 March 2015.

According to well-informed Zimbabwean aviation specialist Mlandeli Ndlela (Harare Airport Blog), FlyAfrica is set to launch a direct service between Johannesburg (JNB) and Bulawayo (BUQ) on 01 March 2015. We'll keep you posted!

FlyAfrica to launch flights Cape Town <> Windhoek

update (27 Feb 2015): FlyAfrica has announced that its inaugural flight between Johannesburg <> Windhoek will be delayed by two weeks. The inaugural flight between Cape Town <> Windhoek will not be affected!

FlyAfrica has just announced via its facebook page that it is required to get some more approvals for both their Namibia flights (Cape Town <> Windhoek & Johannesburg <> Windhoek).



FlyAfrica just announced that it will launch flights between Cape Town International Airport (CPT) in Cape Town and Hosea Kutako International Airport (WDH) in Windhoek, Namibia, in March 2015. From 16 March 2015 the airline will operate daily flights between the two destinations!

update (29 Jan 2015): FlyAfrica has reschulded its planned service between Johannesburg <> Lusaka!
update (10 Nov 2014): FlyAfrica just confirmed the new route. Flights will be commencing on 09 March 2015!

According to aviation specialists routesonline.com, FlyAfrica is going to launch a new service between Johannesburg's OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) and Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (LUN) in Lusaka in Zambia in February 2015. From 16 February 2015 the airline will operate daily flights between the two destinations.
