Johannesburg: The Apartheid Museum re-opens! [update]

update (01 April 2022): The Apartheid Museum in Johannesburg is charging the follwing rates from visitors:

  • Adults: R150.00
  • Pensioners, students & children: R100.00
  • Learners: R55.00
  • Teachers: R65.00

update (14 March 2022): To begin with, the Apartheid Museum in Johannesburg will be open every week from Thursday to Sunday – 09:00 to 17:00.

The Apartheid Museum in Johannesburg has finally announced a re-opening date. The museum, which closed doors to the public between March 2020 and December 2020 and since March 2021 in light of the coronavirus pandemic, will welcome visitors again from 01 April 2022.
The Apartheid Museum, part of the Gold Reef City complex in Johannesburg, opened in 2001 and is acknowledged as the pre-eminent Museum in the world dealing with 20th century South Africa, at the heart of which is the apartheid story.
