The national airline of the Republic of Zambia, Zambia Airways, has announced the launch of its third domestic route. Effective 16 March 2022, the airline will operate four weekly flights between Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (LUN) in Lusaka and Solwezi Airport (SLI) in Solwezi in Zambia's North-Western Province. Flights will be operated on board the airline's only aircraft in service, a De Havilland Canada Dash 8-400.
Zambia Airways, a joint venture between Zambia's state-owned Industrial Development Corporation (IDC; 55%) and Ethiopian Airlines (45%), commenced operations on 01 December 2021. The airline currently connects Lusaka with the tourist heart of Zambia, Livingstone, and Ndola in the Copperbelt Province.
