Covid-19: The Apartheid Museum in Johannesburg has closed again! [update]

update (01 March 2022):  The Apartheid Museum in Johannesburg has announced on its Facebook page (24 Februar 2022), that it is closed for now, but is looking forward to reopening its doors to individual guests and school groups this year.

update (13 January 2022): According to a recent posting by the Apartheid Museum on its Facebook page, the museum in Johannesburg will be "reopening soon". We'll keep you posted!

The Apartheid Museum in Johannesburg has closed again until further notice on 01 March 2021 due to the continued effects of Covid-19. The Musuem, which forms part of the Gold Reef City complex right in the heart of Johannesburg, was already closed for nearly eight month from end of March 2020 to 03 December 2020 due to the global pandemic.
The Apartheid Museum opened its doors in 2001 and is acknowledged as the pre-eminent Museum in the world dealing with 20th century South Africa, at the heart of which is the apartheid story.
