Zambia: Zambia Airways to launch operations!

Zambia Airways, a joint venture between Zambia's state-owned Industrial Development Corporation (IDC; 55%) and Ethiopian Airlines (45%), is set to commence operations. The IDC has announced that Zambia's new national carrier will start operating on 30 September 2021. According to IDC CEO, Mr. Mateyo Kaluba, the operationalization of Zambia Airways will play a catalytic role in reviving the tourism industry in Zambia which has been negatively impacted by the Covid-19 global pandemic.
Zambia Airways will initially operate domestic flights to Livingstone, Ndola and Solwezi and regional flights to Johannesburg and Harare, using a fleet of three leased aircraft including two Bombardier Q400s and one Boeing 737-800. So far, Zambia Airways has trained 25 Zambian cabin crew at the Ethiopian Aviation Academy in Addis Ababa and has recruited five Zambian flying pilots, who are currently in Ethiopia to receive additional training.
