Swiss leisure airline Edelweiss Air has announced the resumption of its seasonal service to Cape Town in South Africa. Effective 25 November 2020, the airline will initially operate one weekly direct flight between Zurich Airport (ZRH) in Zürich and Cape Town International Airport (CPT) in Cape Town. Edelweiss Air will increase the service to two weely flights from 17 December 2020. The airline is planning to end the seasonal service to Cape Town in April 2021.
Since 19 October 2020, there are no longer any entry restrictions for travellers from Switzerland to South Africa. There is also currently no quarantine obligation for return travellers from Cape Town.
