The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has released the Seasonal Climate Watch for the period September 2020 to January 2021. According to the SAWS multi-model rainfall forecast for spring (September 2020 to November 2020), late spring (October 2020 to December 2020) and early summer (November 2020 to January 2021), there are increased chances that South Africa will experience above-normal rainfall over most parts of the country with the main focus being on the summer rainfall areas in the north east of South Africa.
Most of South Africa is expected to experience above-normal temperatures during spring and late spring, with below-normal maximum temperatures predicted for the north eastern parts of the country during early summer.
