Kenya's President Uhuru Kenyatta today (06 July 2020) announced during a televised press briefing that domestic flights in the country will resume on 15 July 2020. International air travel and operations at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) in Nairobi are set to resume from 01 August 2020. All operations - both domestic and international - will be in strict conformity with all applicable guidelines and protocols from both Kenya's Ministry of Health and civil aviation authorities.

Kenya's Government suspended all international flights in and out of the country in March 2020. In May 2020, the government then extended a ban on commercial flights, with the exception of fights arriving to evacuate foreign nationals. In addition to emergency flights, cargo flights were also exempted during the suspension.
