Kruger National Park: Better stick to the park's "rules & regulations" during festive season!

South African National Parks (SANParks) has announced that it will step up their approach to dealing with rule breakers in Kruger National Park this coming festive season effectively from Friday, 09 December 2011.
The rules and regulations (pdf) in Kruger NP became stricter during 2011 - day visitors are not allowed to enter the park with liquor anymore, visitors using KNP border gates as ports of entry or exit through to the neighbouring countries such as Mozambique are now required to produce a valid overnight booking in either Kruger National Park or Limpopo National Park etc. It is therefore advised to make sure that you know the current "rules and regulations" (pdf) to avoid any problems with the officials in the Park.

During the festive season, Kruger National Park law enforcement officers will amongst other things, conduct roadblocks at strategic places all over the park. General law enforcement on vehicles that are not roadworthy or do not meet the road requirement standards, visibility on the vulnerable public areas such as receptions, will also form part of this campaign. There will also be strict spot checks at the entrance gates with emphasis on adherence to permit requirements and strictly no alcohol in public areas in the Park.
