Cape Town: Two Oceans Aquarium is set to reopen!

The Two Oceans Aquarium in Cape Town has announced that it will reopen to the public on 01 September 2020. It will be open daily between 09:30 and 18:00 on weekdays, and from 09:00 to 18:00 on weekends and public holidays. Annual members of the Two Oceans Aquarium will be able to enjoy early access from 28 August 2020 to 31 August 2020 to have the Aquarium all to themselves. The onsite restaurant, Bootlegger Coffee Company, will also be reopening and the Aquarium Shop with its marine-themed merchandise will welcome visitors back too. Two Oceans Aquarium's conference facilities have also reopened with a maximum capacity of 50 delegates per venue.



The Two Oceans Aquarium has introduced a range of health and safety measures in line with the latest Government regulations and a Covid-19 workplace-ready plan has been compiled and implemented. It will adhere to these measures as well as any others gazetted by Government so that the Two Oceans Aquarium can operate in a safe and responsible manner and in so doing protect its visitors and staff to the best of its ability.

Please note: Memberships and prepaid tickets that were purchased during the lockdown period must be activated and redeemed within 90 days of the Two Oceans Aquarium's reopening.

Cape Town: Two Oceans Aquarium closes temporarily in response to coronavirus pandemic! [update]

update (05 August 2020): According to a "message to our fans" from Michael Farquhar, Two Oceans Aquarium CEO, work on plans, communications and signage is underway for the reopening of the Aquarium as soon as the green light is the given by the South African Government. The Aquarium has already introduced a range of health and safety measures in line with current Government regulations and a Covid-19 workplace-ready plan has been compiled and implemented. Cape Town's famous Two Oceans Aquarium will temporarily close its doors to the public from 18 March 2020 until 14 April 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic and in light of the requests and recommendations made by the office of the Presidency of South Africa. This will be the first time the Two Oceans Aquarium has closed since Christmas Day in 1996.
The
Two Oceans Aquarium reassures that the health of the animals in their care will not be compromised by this decision, and that although doors will be closed to the public, a team of committed and experienced animal keepers, aquarists and technicians will remain on duty.

Online tickets booked in advance of visit:

  • online tickets are valid for 3 months from the date of purchase
  • online tickets can possibly be used after the re-opening of the Two Oceans Aquarium
  • online ticket holders can postpone their visit
  • online ticket holder can request for a refund
  • please note: For tickets bought through a third-party reseller and not directly from the website of the Two Oceans Aquarium, refund requests will need to be made via that reseller

Two Oceans Aquarium (Cape Town): Extended opening hours during the festive season!

Cape Town's famous Two Oceans Aquarium will extend its opening hours and will be open from 09:00 until 19:00 every day from 20 December 2017 to 07 January 2018, except for 25 December 2017 when it will close at 18:00. 



Animal feeding times at the Two Ocean Aquarium:

  • I&J Ocean Exhibit: Daily at 12:00 and 14:00
  • Penguin Exhibit: African penguins daily at 11:30 and 14:30
  • Predator Exhibit: Sundays at 15:00
The Two Oceans Aquarium is located on Dock Road at Cape Town's V&A Waterfront. Tickets are R165 per adult and R120 - R80 per child (free entrance for kids under 4 years of age).

Cape Town's Two Oceans Aquarium now offering online tickets

The Two Oceans Aquarium at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town is now offering e-tickets to their customers. The online tickets can be purchased via the aquarium's website. As an an introductory offer the e-tickets can be bought at a discounted rate of 10% off the normal entrance fees. The tickets are valid for 90 days from the date of purchase instead of being valid only for the day of purchase if bought from the ticket office.



Update (08 Dec 2010): The Two Oceans Aquarium is extending its operating hours during the festive season. It will be open from 09h00 to 20h00 from 16 Dec to 09 Jan.
