The Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (Zeitz MOCAA) in Cape Town, the largest museum of contemporary African art in the world, has announced its reopening date. The Museum, which is closed since 17 March 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, is set to reopen on 22 October 2020 with an exhibition by, and for, Capetonians, titled "Home Is Where The Art Is: Art Is Where The Home Is". The open call is directed to every Capetonian who owns or has made interesting paintings, drawings, sculptures and other artworks that brought a sense of joy during the months of the global pandemic. Cape Town: Two Oceans Aquarium is set to reopen!
The Two Oceans Aquarium in Cape Town has announced that it will reopen to the public on 01 September 2020. It will be open daily between 09:30 and 18:00 on weekdays, and from 09:00 to 18:00 on weekends and public holidays. Annual members of the Two Oceans Aquarium will be able to enjoy early access from 28 August 2020 to 31 August 2020 to have the Aquarium all to themselves. The onsite restaurant, Bootlegger Coffee Company, will also be reopening and the Aquarium Shop with its marine-themed merchandise will welcome visitors back too. Two Oceans Aquarium's conference facilities have also reopened with a maximum capacity of 50 delegates per venue.
The Two Oceans Aquarium has introduced a range of health and safety measures in line with the latest Government regulations and a Covid-19 workplace-ready plan has been compiled and implemented. It will adhere to these measures as well as any others gazetted by Government so that the Two Oceans Aquarium can operate in a safe and responsible manner and in so doing protect its visitors and staff to the best of its ability.
Please note: Memberships and prepaid tickets that were purchased during the lockdown period must be activated and redeemed within 90 days of the Two Oceans Aquarium's reopening.

Cape Town: Two Oceans Aquarium closes temporarily in response to coronavirus pandemic! [update]
update (05 August 2020): According to a "message to our fans" from Michael Farquhar, Two Oceans Aquarium CEO, work on plans, communications and signage is underway for the reopening of the Aquarium as soon as the green light is the given by the South African Government. The Aquarium has already introduced a range of health and safety measures in line with current Government regulations and a Covid-19 workplace-ready plan has been compiled and implemented. Cape Town's famous Two Oceans Aquarium will temporarily close its doors to the public from 18 March 2020 until 14 April 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic and in light of the requests and recommendations made by the office of the Presidency of South Africa. This will be the first time the Two Oceans Aquarium has closed since Christmas Day in 1996.
The Two Oceans Aquarium reassures that the health of the animals in their care will not be compromised by this decision, and that although doors will be closed to the public, a team of committed and experienced animal keepers, aquarists and technicians will remain on duty.

V&A Waterfront: The Marina Swing Bridge is getting an upgrade! [update]
update (12 July 2019): Cape Town Executive Mayor Dan Plato has officially opened the new R20 million swing bridge at V&A Waterfront, which replaces the previous pedestrian walkway connecting the Pierhead Precinct with the Clock Tower Precinct.
update (20 May 2019): The V&A Waterfront has announced that the Marina Swing Bridge (connecting you to the Clock Tower / Silo District) will be out of operation from 20 May 2019 to 17 June 2019, as a new one is getting installed!
update (05 March 2019): The Marina Swing Bridge will again be out of operation when the new bridge is getting installed (29 March - 17 April 2019). The completion date for construction is expected to be 30 April 2019.
The pedestrian Marina Swing Bridge, which connects the Clock Tower / Silo District with the rest of the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, is getting an upgrade. The new bridge will be wider, allowing more people to safely pass through. However, it will mean that the bridge will be out of operation from 25 February 2019 to 01 March 2019.
To travel across the two areas, a MyCiTi bus shuttle service will operate between the Bascule Bridge (near the Cape Grace Hotel) and Silo Square. (near the Zeitz MOCAA). The shuttle is free and will run approximately every six minutes between 5:30 and 23:30pm.
