Uganda: Kampala set to introduce city tour buses to boost urban tourism
Uganda's capital Kampala is set to get its first city tour buses to boost urban tourism. The Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) has therefore signed a memorandum of understanding with Albrieux Africa Tours, which is supposed to get the product running by the end of 2015. The Kampala city tour itinerary will include stop overs at various locations, such as the Bahai Temple, the Old Kampala Mosque, the Namugongo Martyrs shrine, the Kasubi tombs, the Makerere University as well as the Uganda Museum. Tickets for the city bus tour will be available at the National Theatre, at Kabaka Anjagala Road, near Independence Monument and the Uganda Museum.

Video of the new City Sightseeing tour of Johannesburg
The operator of City Sightseeing, a global sightseeing bus brand, in South Africa is not only running city tours in Cape Town, but also, since January 2013, in Johannesburg. City Sightseeing's tour of Johannesburg follows a circular route around the city and stops 12 of the city's landmarks, including the Apartheid Museum, Gold Reef City and Constitution Hill. The entire tour takes approximately two hours and buses depart every 40min from each stop along the route. It is probably the easiest way to get a first glimpse (commentatory in 10 languages available) of Johannesburg and its sightseeing hotspots. Enjoy!

City Sightseeing Cape Town achieves carbon-neutral certification
City Sightseeing Cape Town, the company that operates the unmistakable and well-known red double decker open-top buses has become the first bus company in South Africa to be certified carbon neutral by Global Carbon Exchange (GCX), a leading strategic sustainability consultancy.
City Sightseeing Cape Town is operating a fleet of continually upgraded, super-low emission buses that comply with all Euro standards for environmental impact. City Sightseeing has also made great inroads into greening the rest of the business and has adopted all the latest available methodology and technology to reduce noise pollution as well as energy and water consumption. The company also recycles all of their waste, which has in turn led to the creation of sustainable employment.

New: open-top double-decker bus tour of Windhoek, Namibia
Sense of Africa, a tour company based in Windhoek, recently started operating daily open-top double-decker bus tours of Namibia's capital. The tour (duration 2.5hrs) is starting at 0930 and 1430 from the Windhoek Craft Market and is covering the city’s most important landmarks, stopping at a large traditional market in the township of Katutura where guests can disembark the bus. Continuing through the Industrial area with its highlights, the tour returns to the craft market in the city centre via the striking colonial buildings dating back to the era of the German Schutztruppe. Orlando Towers: Bungee jumping in Soweto
Orlando Towers, already known for developing the disused Orlando cooling towers in Soweto into a vertical adventure facility and tourist attraction for Soweto, will introduce Soweto's first bungee jumping facility to the market. They are currently hoping to have the BUNGEE BRIDGE complete some time in July, and will have the BUNGEE JUMP open to the public in August 2009... so start practising... 3,2,1.... BUNGEEEEEEEEE!
Tsitsikamma National Park: Dolphin Trail rebuild
Tsitsikamma's Dolphin Trail, a joint initiative with private parties adjacent the park, which got badly damaged during some storms and fires in 2008, has been rebuild. The semi-luxury hiking 17km trail follows the Tsitsikamma coastal belt, a narrow plateau between the Tsitsikamma Mountains and the Indian Ocean.

Sense of Africa, a tour company based in has announced the launch of an open-top double-decker bus tour of Windhoek.
Du to the strong demand for cultural tours by visitors they have also set up a partnersip with a community-based operator in the Aabadi Bushman Village.
Zimbabwe: New cars for Avis
Avis Rent-A-Car Zimbabwe is upgrading their vehicle fleet. Zimbabwe's government recently allowed tourism operators to import capital goods on a duty-free basis and hence Avis is investing in new vehicles. Looking at 2010 one managing director said that the delivery of four new Chevrolet Aveo vehicles is the first phase of a programme to bring its fleet up to date and beyond. Well, let us take it as a good sign for Zimbabwe.
