City Sightseeing Johannesburg: New "Hop-on, hop-off"-tour through Soweto
City Sightseeing Johannesburg, launched earlier in 2013, has teamed up with entrepreneurial company "SO WE TOO" to add an exciting new extension to their existing Red City Tour. This new partnership makes it very easy for passengers to not only explore Johannesburg's CBD but also to extend their visit to include the excitement of Soweto. "SO WE TOO" offers taxi tours through the streets of the South Western Townships, visiting the area’s top attractions. City Sightseeing staff will assist with the seamless connection between bus and taxi and this hop-on, hop-off taxi tour, which takes place in a air-conditioned Quantum bus. The taxi tour also includes an on board guide that can offer in-depth, interesting and personal information. The City Sightseeing-"SO WE TOO"-Combo tour starts and ends at Gold Reef City (City Sightseeing Bus Stop 6). The stops along the Soweto tour are:
- Walter Sisulu Square in the heart of Kliptown
- Hector Pieterson memorial in Orlando West
- Vilakazi Street – the only road in the world to call two Nobel Prize winners residents
- Baragwanath Taxi Rank and Trader's Market – the biggest and busiest taxi rank in Soweto

Video of the new City Sightseeing tour of Johannesburg
The operator of City Sightseeing, a global sightseeing bus brand, in South Africa is not only running city tours in Cape Town, but also, since January 2013, in Johannesburg. City Sightseeing's tour of Johannesburg follows a circular route around the city and stops 12 of the city's landmarks, including the Apartheid Museum, Gold Reef City and Constitution Hill. The entire tour takes approximately two hours and buses depart every 40min from each stop along the route. It is probably the easiest way to get a first glimpse (commentatory in 10 languages available) of Johannesburg and its sightseeing hotspots. Enjoy!
