Zambia's privately owned airline Zambezi Airlines has announced that it will resume operations. From today (15 June 2012) the airline will initially operate flights ex Lusaka to Harare (Zimbabwe), Dar es Salaam (Tanzania), Johannesburg (South Africa), Ndola (Zambia) and Lubumbashi (Congo) on board a Bombardier CRJ200 aircraft.
Zambezi Airlines got suspended from operating on reasons of failing to adhere to safety and schedule regulations as required in the aviation sector by the Zambian Government in October 2011.

update (17 May 2012): A first proof of life from Zambezi Airlines - their website got updated. It is still not possible to book flights, but the airline is now at least presenting some updates on passenger ticket refunds:

(a) Tickets purchased through travel agencies - clients are advised to approach their respective travel agents. Travel Agencies are receiving these monies directly from IATA via the BSP platform.Zambezi Airlines, a privately owned airline based in Lusaka (Zambia), will resume flights by June 2012. The airline got suspended from operating on reasons of failing to adhere to safety and schedule regulations as required in the aviation sector by the Zambian Government in October 2011. According to Zambezi Airlines's website, the "portal will be reactivated for flight bookings and reservations on 15th May, 2012". We'll keep you posted!
(b) Tickets purchased through Zambezi Airlines Ticketing Offices - clients to receive cash refunds beginning 1 July 2012

update (20 Jan 2012): The government of Zambia has restored the operating certificate of Zambezi Airlines but planes will not be allowed to fly until it meets several other financial and safety requirements. Zambia's Transport and Communications Minister Yamfwa Mukanga stated the lifting of the suspension was procedural but a tribunal will have to determine whether the requirements were met during the suspension before the carrier can operate again.

Zambezi Airlines, a privately owned airline based in Lusaka (Zambia), got suspended from operating on reasons of failing to adhere to safety and schedule regulations as required in the aviation sector by the Zambian Government. As a result at least 40 passengers on their way to South Africa were left stranded at the Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula Airport in Livingstone on Saturday. Pls contact Zambezi Airlines, if you got tickets for flights with the airline as they are meant to be making alternative arrangements for people with tickets already booked.

Zambezi Airlines and Kenya Airways signed commercial partnership agreement
Zambian airline Zambezi Airlines and Kenya's flag carrier Kenya Airways have signed a new commercial partnership agreement. Passengers of Zambezi Airlines can now purchase tickets to travel to any of the Kenya Airways 50 destinations in Africa, the Middle East, the Far East, Asia, Europe and America via the airline's hub in Nairobi. Zambezi Airlines operates flights from Lusaka to the Kenyan capital every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.

I just read on twitter (thx to @JollyboysZambia & @livilodge) that there are rumours "that Zambezi Airlines will be starting a direct Cape Town to Livingstone flight soon".

Air Namibia to launch flights to Lusaka, Zambia
Namibia's national airline "Air Namibia" just announced that they will introduce flights to Lusaka, Zambia, at the 25 Oct. 2009 as part of the airline’s aggressive regional route expansion. Five weekly flights between Windhoek and Lusaka, via Johannesburg, are currently scheduled (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays). In addition to traffic between Namibia and Zambia, the airline will also offer flights for traffic between Johannesburg and Lusaka (codeshare with Zambezi Airlines).

BA to reduce weekly Cape Town flights
BRITISH Airways has announced that, effective from 27 Oct 2009, it will reduce its frequency between London and Cape Town from 14 to 13 flights per week.
Flights on Tuesdays and Wednesdays will be cancelled. The cancellation is a result of the airline’s decision to introduce an additional Luanda service. Passengers booked on these flights will be re-accommodated.
Airlink: Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport <> Livingstone fligths
AIRLINK will start operating its new route from Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport to Livingstone on August 17 2009.
RwandaAir's Joburg service
RWANDAIR has announced that, effective August 17, it will operate the Johannesburg/Kigali service via Bujumbura (Burundi).
