South African flag carrier, South African Airways (SAA), will introduce a new service to Lubumbashi, the second-largest city in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The airline is set to operate five weekly direct flights on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays between OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg and Lubumbashi International Airport (FBM) in Lubumbashi. Flights will depart Johannesburg at 10:50 and arrive in Lubumbashi at 13:20. The return flight will depart Lubumbashi at 14:10 and will arrive in Johannesburg at 17:50. The new service will commence on 01 November 2024.

South Africa: Airlink to introduce additional flights to Maputo and Lubumbashi!
South African privately-owned regional carrier Airlink has announced the introduction of additional flights to Maputo in Mozambique and Lubumbashi in the DR Congo due to rising demand for air travel between those cities and South Africa. Effective 01 April 2021, the airline will operate triple daily flights between OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg and Maputo International Airport (MPM) in Maputo as well as daily flights between Johannesburg and Lubumbashi International Airport (FBM) in Lubumbashi.

South Africa: Airlink to launch flights to the DR Congo and Tanzania!
South African privately-owned regional carrier Airlink is set to launch flights to the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Tanzania. Effective 30 November 2020, the airline will introduce three weekly direct flights on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg and Lubumbashi International Airport (FBM) in Lubumbashi. One day later, on 01 December 2020, Airlink will launch a three weekly direct service on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays between Johannesburg and Julius Nyerere International Airport (DAR) in Dar es Salaam.

Tanzania: Precision Air extends network to Lusaka (Zambia)
Tanzania's largest airline Precision Air has announced the start of its operations to Lubumbashi (DR Congo) and through to Lusaka (Zambia) effective 18 May 2012.
The airline will fly the new route using its newly leased Boeing 737-300. Flights will depart Dar Es Salaam at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The flight duration is 2hrs. Precision Air also announced plans to commence flight to Angola later in the year as the projected growth takes root with more frequencies and more destinations.
Precision Air currently operates scheduled air services between Dar Es Salaam and 16 destinations in Tanzania, Uganda, South Africa, Comores, Zimbabwe and Malawi. The airline's main base is Julius Nyerere International Airport, Dar es Salaam with hubs at Kilimanjaro International Airport and Mwanza Airport.
