The Governments of Namibia and Angola held a bilateral meeting on 21 January to discuss the re-opening of its common borders. According to a joint communique issued by Namibia's Minister of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security, Dr. Albert Kawana, and Angola's Minister of State and Head of the Military House of the President of the Republc, Francisco Pereira Furtado, the Oshikango-Santa Clara Border Post and the Katwitwi Border Post will re-open on 01 February 2022. The remaining border posts are set to re-open on 15 February 2022.
Travellers intending to visit Angola must present a negative Covid-19 PCR test and a vaccination certificate with two doses. Those with one dose will be subjected to a 7-day quarantine at own cost.
