The Namibia Airports Company (NAC), the state-owned operator of eight of Namibia's largest airports, has announced that the N$250 (N$260?) million Hosea Kutako International Airport (WDH) Congestion Alleviation project practical completion date is set for the end of September 2021. The specialist equipment, such as the baggage handling and reclaim will be commissioned and operationalized towards the end of October 2021. The Hosea Kutako International Airport (WDH) Congestion Alleviation project commenced in September 2019 and was initially supposed to be completed by September/October 2020. According to Dan Kamati, Marketing officer of the Namibia Airports Company (NAC), the delayed completion is mainly due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Hosea Kutako International Airport (WDH) is the main international airport of Namibia. The airport is situated over the Khomas Mountains some 45 km east of Windhoek.
