Etihad Airways, the second-largest airline in the United Arab Emirates after Emirates, has announced the return to South Africa. The airline will start flights between Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) in Abu Dhabi and OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg as well as between Abu Dhabi and Cape Town International Airport (CPT) in Cape Town from 25 November 2021. Both destinations will operate three times per week on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The route will be serviced by Etihad Airways' flagship and most-sustainable aircraft, the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, with 28 Business Studios, 78 Economy Space seats and 184 Economy seats.
