Travellers planning a trip to Zimbabwe should be aware of a new entry requirement. The Zimbabwean government has announced that all international visitors must now complete their arrival forms online before departure, as traditional paper forms are no longer in use.
The new system applies to all travellers, regardless of whether they are from a visa-exempt country or require a visa to enter Zimbabwe. The move is part of a wider digital transformation strategy aimed at improving efficiency at border posts and streamlining immigration procedures for tourists.
Visitors can submit their online arrival declaration in advance through the official government portal at evisa.gov.zw. While self-service immigration kiosks are available at airports and land borders, the authorities caution that completing the forms on arrival could result in longer waiting times. For a smoother travel experience, it is strongly recommended that travellers fill in the online form prior to departure.
This digital shift aligns Zimbabwe with a growing global trend, where more countries are moving towards online entry systems to reduce paperwork, improve border security, and make travel more convenient for international visitors.
