Filmed in 11 countries over the course of six weeks (not to mention the 18 flights and 38 thousand miles in between) and launched online only last week, the three videos have already generated about 5 million combined hits... and counting. Wanderlust!

How the awards are scored
The Wanderlust Travel Awards were based on their reader's travels from December 2008 to November 2009. In most categories, readers were asked to list up to four entries (eg countries visited) and score each one on its merits. The final positions are based on an average score for the entry (converted to a percentage) – so the results are based on satisfaction rather than the number of votes received. In the other categories (eg top travel personality) they simply counted the number of votes to determine the outcome; and in the newly introduced Special Awards, the winners were elected, wholly undemocratically, by the Wanderlust team
