Mozambique: LAM - Mozambique Airlines launches three new routes to Johannesburg in South Africa!

The flag carrier of Mozambique, LAM - Mozambique Airlines, has announced on its Facebook page that it is set to launch direct flights to Johannesburg from the cities of Tete, Nampula and Pempa. Flights between Pemba Airport (POL) in Pempa, the capital of the province of Cabo Delgado in northern Mozambique, and OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg will commence on 29 January 2024, while flights between Chingozi Airport (TET) in Tete, the capital city of Tete Province in west-central Mozambique, and Johannesburg as well as between Nampula Airport (NPL) in Nampula, the capital city of Nampula Province in northern Mozambique, and Johannesburg are set to start on 30 January 2024. LAM - Mozambique Airlines will operate three weekly flights on all three new routes.

Malawi: Malawi Airlines set to launch flights to three new regional destinations!

The flag carrier airline of Malawi, Malawi Airlines, is planning to launch flights to three new regional destinations. According to postings on facebook, the airline is planing to introduce flights from Kamuzu International Airport (LLW) in Lilongwe to two destinations in Mozambique, namely Nampula Airport (APL) in Nampula and Pemba Airport (POL) in Pemba, as well as flights from Lilongwe to the capital of Rwanda, Kigali. Malawi Airlines has so far not provided any information on the launch date for its flights to the Mozambican destinations besides "route commencing soon". However, flights to Kigali International Airport (KGL) in Kigali are set to commence from mid-August 2023. We'll keep you posted!

Airlink to resume flights between Johannesburg <> Nampula!

South African privately-owned regional carrier Airlink is set to resume direct flights between OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg and Nampula Airport (APL) in Nampula, Mozambique. Effective 16 September 2021, the airline will operate two weekly flights on board an Embraer Regional Jet aircraft every Tuesday and Thursday. Flights will depart Johannesburg at 10:30 and arrive in Nampula at 13:00, while the return flights will depart Nampula at 13:35 and arrive in Johannesburg at 16:15.
Airlink’s Economy Class fares include a 20kg free economy class checked in luggage allowance plus a 15kg sporting equipment allowance. Onboard, the airline's customers are offered complimentary light meal and refreshments.

Fastjet set to launch domestic flights in Mozambique!

Pan-African low cost-carrier Fastjet is set to launch domestic flights in Mozambique on 03 November 2017. The airline is the first low-cost carrier to enter the country's domestic aviation market. Fastjet will initially operate an Embraer ERJ145 aircraft on the following routes in Mozambique:

Malawi: Malawian Airlines set to launch flights to Mozambique

The flag carrier of Malawi, Malawian Airlines, will launch flights to Mozambique. From 01 November 2014, the airline will operate two flights per week from Lilongwe (LLW) to Nampula (APL) and three weekly flights from Lilongwe (LLW) to Tete (TET).

LAM Mozambique to expand its Johannesburg services

The flag carrier of Mozambique, Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique (LAM Mozambique), will expand its services to Johannesburg in South Africa. From 28 April 2013 the airline will add a total of 10 weekly flights to its current schedule, including a daily service from Nampula in northern Mozambique.

South Africa: Airlink to increase flights to Nampula (Mozambique)

Privately owened South African airline Airlink will increase the frequency of its service between Johannesburg and Nampula, located about 2100km north of Maputo in Mozambique.
From 03 October 2012 Airlink will add a Wednesday flight to its weekly schedule. Flights depart Johannesburg at 11:05 arriving in Nampula at 13:35 and depart Nampula at 14:10 arriving at Johannesburg at 16:45.
The additional flight will compliment the airline's current schedule which operates on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Airlink will operate the route with one of its 11 Embraer ERJ135 37 seat regional jets.
Airlink works closely with South African Airways to ensure seamless service for corporate and leisure travellers visiting Pemba. Benefits for Airlink travellers include Voyager Miles and convenient interline connections with South African Airways and its Star Alliance partner flights locally and globally.

South Africa: Airlink adds more flights and increases capacity to Mozambique

From 01 September 2011 Airlink will increase the number of flights between Johannesburg (OR Tambo) and Nampula from 3 flights per week to 4 flights per week.
Airlink will operate the additional direct flight on Thursdays, complimenting the current flight schedule on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. All flights operate fast and comfortable Embraer 135 regional jets 37 seats.
Flights depart Johannesburg at 11h05 arriving Nampula at 13h35 and depart Nampula 14h40 arriving Johannesburg at 16h45 connecting with domestic and international inbound and outbound flights.
From 1 September 2011 Airlink will be offering more seats on the direct service between Johannesburg and Tete due to demand. Airlink will also operate the AVRO 85 regional jet 83 seats on Thursdays in addition to the current schedule Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Flights depart Johannesburg at 10h50 arriving Tete at 12h55 and depart Tete at 13h40 arriving Johannesburg at 16h00 offering seamless connections with domestic and international inbound and outbound flights. [via flyairlink.com]
