Zambia/Zimbabwe: KAZA univisa stickers available again from next week!

update (10 Oct 2017): Various sources from Victoria Falls and Livingstone have confirmed that the KAZA univisa is available again at border posts in Zimbabwe and Zambia!

Zambia and Zimbabwe ran out of KAZA visa stickers in August (Zambia) and September (Zimbabwe), so that no KAZA univisa were available at Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula International Airport in Livingstone, Victoria Falls Border Post, Kazungula Border Post, Harare International Airport in Harare and Victoria Falls International Airport in Victoria Falls. It has now been reported that KAZA univisa stickers will be available again in Zambia and Zimbabwe from next week. The stickers will be dispatched within the next few days, and issuance should resume next week. We'll keep you posted!

update (13 Sept 2017): According to state-owned Zimbabwean newspaper "The Chronicle", KAZA univisa stickers a are "still available in Zimbabwe's Harare International Airport, Victoria Falls International Airport, Victoria Falls and Kazungula border posts although reports say they could also be running out of stock". Well...

According to reports from Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe is now also experiencing a shortage of Kaza univisa stickers. All ports of entry, including Harare International Airport in Harare, Victoria Falls International Airport in Victoria Falls, Kazungula Border (Botswana) and the Victoria Falls Border (bridge border Zambia/Zimbabwe), are currently unable to issue the visa. Until this matter has been resolved, only the standard Zimbabwean single entry visa ($30), double entry visas ($45) and multiple entry visas ($55; to be supported by a letter) are currently available. Zambia ran out of stickers already about 3 weeks ago and is still unable to issue the Kaza univisa.

The KAZA univisa (stickers) are valid for 30 days as long as the traveller remains in Zambia and Zimbabwe and cost $50 per person. The univisa also covers those who wish to visit Botswana for day trips through the Kazungula Border Post.

update (21 Dec 2016): The Kaza Visa has been relaunched!
 
According to a posting by the David Livingstone Safari Lodge and Spa on Facebook, the KAZA UNIVISA, which allows travellers to enter both Zimbabwe and Zambia using a dual visa, will be (re-)launched today (21 Dec 2016) at the Victoria Falls Conference Centre at the David Livingstone Safari Lodge and Spa in Livingstone, Zambia.

update (30 Nov 2016): According to the latest update of the Foreign travel advice - Zimbabwe (27 November 2016) by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (UK), the UNIVISA is still suspended!

According to the latest update of the Foreign travel advice - Zimbabwe (06 September 2016) by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (UK), the UNIVISA, which allows travellers to enter both Zimbabwe and Zambia using a dual visa, is currently suspended. It is advised to get a double entry visa for both countries if you are planning to travel between Zimbabwe and Zambia (more than one entry either way). Both Zimbabwe and Zambia  issue double entry visas at ports of entry.

Zimbabwe/Zambia: KAZA univisa has been reinstated!

The KAZA univisa has been reinstated. According to Zimbabwe's Minister of Tourism Dr Walter Mzembi, the visa, which allows visitors from 40 countries to travel between Zimbabwe and Zambia using the same document, was put on hold at the end of December 2015 due to Zambia running out of the required stamps. With the reinstatement, the KAZA univisa moves from pilot stage one to stage two, so that Namibia, Botswana and Angola are also now included (see video at 0:47/2:33).

Zambia/Zimbabwe: KAZA uni-visa is no longer being issued!

According to Wild Horizons, a tourism company based in Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe), the issuance of the KAZA uni-visa has been suspended effective immediately in both Zimbabwe and Zambia. The "standard" visa are still being issued (more info > Zambia - Zimbabwe). We'll keep you posted!
