Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the Graskop Gorge lift in Mpumalanga, a viewing lift that takes visitors 51 metres down the face of the Graskop Gorge and into the forest below, will only open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, except for long weekends. This also applies to the world’s highest cable gorge swing, the Big Swing, and the Zipline (a 130m high-wire zipline!). The Graskop Gorge lift reopened to the public a month ago, on 03 July 2020, following a three month closure as a result of the national coronavirus lockdown in South Africa.
The Graskop Gorge lift, which is operated by the Graskop Gorge Lift Company, is located just outside of Graskop on the R533 towards Hazyview along the famous Panorama Route (on the opposite side of the gorge to the Big Swing).

Mpumalanga: Graskop Gorge lift reopens!
The Graskop Gorge lift in Mpumalanga, a viewing lift that takes visitors 51 metres down the face of the Graskop Gorge and into the forest below, has announced that it will reopen on 03 July 2020. The lift was closed for more than three month as a result of the national coronavirus lockdown. The celebrate the reopening, the Graskop Gorge lift will reduce the prices for the viewing lift and forest experience. The lift experience special, valid for July 2020 only, is:

The Graskop Gorge lift in Mpumalanga, a viewing lift that takes visitors 51 metres down the face of the Graskop Gorge and into the forest below, will be closed on 11 and 12 February 2020 for planned maintenance. The world’s highest cable gorge swing, the Big Swing, and the Zipline (a 130m high-wire zipline!) will be operational, and the shops and restaurant will be open for business as usual. Walks in the Graskop Gorge will be at half price. Mpumalanga: Graskop Gorge lift is currently not operational! [update]
update (09 January 2020): It seems that the Graskop Gorge lift in Mpumalanga is operational again. The company has deleted the facebook posting which said that the lift is currently " not operational due to a huge storm at the Graskop Gorge on 05 January 2020".

Graskop Gorge Lift (Mpumalanga): The suspension bridge is now wheelchair accessible!
The Graskop Gorge Lift Company has announced that the 52-metre suspension bridge, which links the southern side of the gorge, where the Graskop Gorge Lift is situated, to the northern side, which houses the Big Swing (the world’s highest cable gorge swing!), can now be accessed with wheelchairs. The bridge was built around the edge of the Graskop Gorge as an alternative means of access to either side.

update (04 December 2019): The maintenance work has been finished, so that the Graskop Gorge lift is back in operation earlier than previously announced!

Mpumalanga: Graskop Gorge lift to temporarily close for maintenance!
The Graskop Gorge lift in Mpumalanga, a viewing lift that takes visitors 51 metres down the face of the Graskop Gorge and into the forest below, will be shut down for routine maintenance on 26 November 2018 and 27 November 2018. The lift will be operational again from 28 November 2018. The cliff-top restaurant and the shops will remain open during the maintenance.
