Namibia launches a new visa for for remote workers! [update]

update (16 October 2022): The Embassy of the Republic of Namibia in France has released a circular regarding the Namibian Digital Nomad Visa Programme. It provides some more detailed information about the general requirements and supporting documents an applicant needs to obtain the visa. 

The Namibia Investment Promotion & Development Board (NIPDB) just announced that Namibia has launched a special visa for digital nomads. The Namibia Digital Nomad Visa allows remote workers to stay in the country for up to six months. Applicants wanting to take advantage of the new visa will have to prove that they earn enough money to be self-sufficient*. Applicants must also have valid travel documents, health or travel insurance covering risks while in Namibia. Approximately USD60/GBP55/€62 (NAD1100) will be required upon arrival as payment for the visa.

*Applicants will neet to demonstrate proof of income/funds (Payslip/Employment Contract) to sustain themselves and dependants (USD2000 – Applicant, USD1000 – Accompanying Spouse, USD500 – per accompanying child per month).
