Kruger National Park: Travellers urged to enter through alternative gates to Numbi Gate!

South African National Parks (SANParks) is urging travellers to use other entrance gates into Kruger National Park than Numbi Gate following the recent attack on a group of four German tourists and a subsequent fatal shooting of one of the group members earlier in the week. According to SANParks Acting Chief Executive Officer, Ms Hapiloe Sello, SANParks is deeply saddened by the recent spate of attacks on visitors en-route to the iconic national park particularly on the road leading to Numbi Gate.

Kruger National Park has a total of ten entrance gates. In the south of Kruger National Park, where Numbi Gate is located, there are five other entrances namely Paul Kruger Gate, Phabeni Gate and Orpen Gate through the R40 from White River as well as Malelane Gate and Crocodile Bridge Gate through the N4 toll road towards Komatipoort in Mpumalanga. In the north of Kruger National Park, visitors can enter through Phalaborwa Gate, Punda Maria Gate or Pafuri Gate and lastly, Giriyondo Border Post allows access directly from Mozambique.
