South African Airways (SAA) has announced that it will returm to Mauritius after the island nation lifted its travel ban on South Africa in January 2022. Mauritius banned travel from South Africa and other Southern African countries in November 2021 due to the emergence of the Omicron variant of the Coronavirus. Effective 01 March 2022, SAA will resume its twice weekly service between OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg and Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport (MRU) on Mauritius.
