The national airline of Tanzania, Air Tanzania, resumed operations on 01 November 2011. The airline, which was grounded for about three years by the Tanzania Civil Air Authority (TCAA) due to passenger safety concerns, re-started operations with flights between Dar es Salaam and Tabora as well as Kigoma in Tanzania. The routes will be serviced by a Bombardier Q300 plane. According to Paulo Chizi, acting managing director and chief executive officer of Air Tanzania Company Limited (ATCL), the airline expects to have at least 11 aircraft operating within the next five years.
