Cape Town: Table Mountain among the provisional New7Wonders of Nature

update (03 May 2012): The New7Wonders Foundation has confirmed that Table Mountain’s "provisional" status as one of the New7Wonders of Nature has been changed to "official". Table Mountain is the fifth site to have its status confirmed, along with Halong Bay, Iguazu Falls, Jeju Island and Puerto Princesca Underground River. The Amazon and Komodo remain on the provisional list.

It is not finally confirmed yet as the voting results need to be validated and verified first, but Cape Town's Table Mountain is one of the provisional New7Wonders of Nature. Based on the first count of vote results on 11/11/11, Table Mountain is joined by the Amazon, Halong Bay, Iguazu Falls, Jeju Island, Komodo and Puerto Princesca Underground River as the provisional New7Wonders of Nature.

It is still possible that there will be changes between the provisional winners and the eventual finally confirmed winners. The voting calculation is now being checked, validated and independently verified. The confirmed winners will be announced during the Official Inauguration ceremonies in early 2012! Anyway - congrats Table Mountain, congrats Cape Town and congrats South Africa and thank you to everyone who has voted for Table Mountain!
