update (19 April 2011): The airport tax, or Zimbabwean Aviation Infrastructural Development Fee (AIDF), has been postponed for the time being.
etnw.co.za is reporting that Zimbabwean Authorities announced a new airport tax which will be introduced for all air bookings ticketed as from 01 Apirl 2011. The tax is US$30 and is supposed to be used for the upgrading of the airports in Zimbabwe.
I am currently not sure if the new tax will come on top of the already existing Airport Passenger Service Charge of US$20, which is levied on passengers embarking on international flights, and the Departure Tax (domestic flights US$5, international flights US$30 (levied upon ticket issuance)).
