Video: "Thambo - The Malawian skies 4K (UHD)"

French photographer and film producer Adrien Mauduit recently visited Malawi and toured the country from South to North. He accompanied a group of Danish students on a charity trip and used his spare time to film the Malawian skies - by day and by night. Back home in Denmark, Adrien made the amazing film "Thambo - The Malawian skies" out of  the roughly 7500 pictures and 25+ hours of video footage he shot in Malawi. Namibia: "Undisturbed Places - A Timelapse Film"

Namibia is a filmmaker's wonderland! Wondering why? Check out Maciej Tomków's fantastic video "Undisturbed Places - A Timelapse Film". The film was shot a various places in Namibia (and Botswana) during a month-long trip through the Namib and the Kalahari. Maciej collected 2 terrybytes of timelapse footage while travelling around the two countries. Video: Coffee Bay timelapse

Ok, here comes another timelapse video shot in South Africa. This one was made in Coffee Bay, a small community at the Wild Coast located about 250 kilometres south of Durban and home to one of South Africa's most famous backpackers: The Coffee Shack! Video: Marakele National Park timelapse

Marakele National Park, located in the Waterberg Biosphere in South Africa's Limpopo Province, covers about 670 square kilometres and is home to the Big Four (buffalo do not exist in the park) Big Five as well as sixteen species of antelopes. Contrasting majestic mountain landscapes, grass-clad hills and deep valleys characterize the park. Marakele has two camp sites, namely Tlopi Tented Camp and Bontle Camping Site. Eight new tented units are currently constructed at Bontle Camping Site (scheduled to conclude on 30 September 2013). Vimeo user Peachy Cinema visited the park earlier this month and shot the timelapse video below. Enjoy!

Video: London to Nairobi (Kenya) in 2 minutes

A flight from London in England to Nairobi in Kenya usually takes about 8.5hrs (approx. 6,800km), but not in this video. Vimeo user Doctor Bob Studios filmed the entire flight with his GoPro Hero 2 mounted on the airplane window and created a time-lapse / flight lapse video out of the footage! Safe travels & kudos Bob for the video!

Mexican photographer Santiago Arau visited Cape Town in May 2012 and shot the truly exceptional timelapse video Cape Town | One Day in One Minute with a Canon 5D Mark II. Kudos Santiago! Great work!

Video: Johannesburg to Cape Town drivelapse

Travellers planning to drive by car all the way from Johannesburg to Cape Town (or vice versa) should watch Jordi Giralt's great drivelapse video that he made during the 1400km/900mi (or 16hrs) trip from Florida Park in Johannesburg and Kenilworth in Cape Town. To cover the journey, Jordi took about 6000 photos with his camera which was placed right behind the wind shield of the car.
If you got some spare 5min, watch the video, enjoy the landscape, villages and towns Jordi drove through and listen to the great background music (Boards of Canada - Chromakey Dreamcoat). Kudos Jordi!

South Africa: Drakensberg Mountains time lapse video

Video: Durban to Mozambique drivelapse

Roadtrips from Durban to Mozambique and/or the Kosi Bay area in northern KwaZulu Natal are actually quite popular among travellers, so if you are planning to drive up there from Durbs, check out the following drive lapse video.
The route in the video goes from Durban northwards along the N2 and the R22 followed by the P522 and is ending up somewhere right behind the Kosi Bay Border to Ponta do Oura in Mozambique! Enjoy!

Video: Cape Town to Tulbagh drivelapse

Tulbagh, located about 150km or about 2hrs north of Cape Town in the Tulbagh Valley, is one of South Africa's fastest growing and most succesfull (in terms of (inter)national awards) wine-producing villages in the country. The village nestles in amongst the Witzenberg, Obiqua and Winterhoek Mountains, which surround it on three sides and provide one of the most beautiful settings in South Africa's Western Cape.
Those who are planning to drive to Tulbagh from Cape Town by car might like to watch the follwing 2min-drivelapse-video as it shows the entire route from Cape Town to Tulbagh filmed from the front seat's perspective of a car.
