Kruger National Park: Numbi Gate inaccessible due to protests! [update]

update (23 October 2019): Kruger National Park's Numbi Gate is open again. The road is open again!

South African National Parks (SANParks) has informed the public that Kruger National Park's Numbi Gate is currently closed due to protests on the access road to the National Park. Visitors are asked to use alternate gates, such as Phabeni Gate or Paul Kruger Gate, to enter or leave Kruger National Park.
Numbi Gate is one of Kruger National Park's most popular entrace or exit gates. It is located ideal if coming from Nelspruit or White River as it is less than 60 minutes to reach. The closest camp to the gate is Pretorius Rest Camp.

Kruger National Park: Numbi Gate inaccessible due to protests!

According to South African National Parks (SANParks), Kruger National Park's Numbi Gate is currently inaccessible due to protests in the surrounding areas, such as Mganduzweni taking place on the R538, and is blocked at the moment. Visitors are advised to use alternative routes e.g. R40/Kiepersol and the Phabeni Gate or the Paul Kruger Gate to access or exit Kruger National Park until further notice.
Numbi Gate is one of Kruger National Park's most popular entrace or exit gates. It is located ideal if coming from Nelspruit or White River as it is less than 60 minutes to reach. The closest camp to the gate is Pretorius Rest Camp

Kruger National Park: Numbi Gate inaccessible due to protests!

According to a press release by South African National Parks (SANParks), Kruger National Park's Numbi Gate is currently inaccessible due to protests taking place outside the gate (on the Numbi road bridge leading to the gate) and is blocked at the moment.
Guests are advised to use alternative gates such as the Phabeni Gate or the Paul Kruger Gate to access or exit Kruger National Park until further notice. We'll keep you posted!

Kruger National Park: Numbi Gate inaccessible due to protests!

According to a press release by South African National Parks (SANParks), Kruger National Park's Numbi Gate is inaccessible due to protests taking place in the surrounding areas such as Mahushu on the R538 today (03 May 2018) and is blocked at the moment. Guests are advised to use alternative routes e.g. R40/Kiepersol and the Phabeni Gate or the Paul Kruger Gate to access or exit Kruger National Park until further notice.

Addo Elephant National Park: Main Gate is currently inaccessible!

update (13 April 2017): Addo Elephant National Park's main gate is fully functional again.

The main gate of Addo Elephant National Park is currently inaccessible. A group of employees of the Cattle Baron Grill & Bistro, dismissed last week, are burning tyres in protest at this entrance. South African National Parks (SANParks) advises travellers intending to visit Addo Elephant National Park to either enter through the Gate at Camp Matyholweni near Colchester or the Nyathi Gate, which is about 5km further down the road from the Main Gate, towards Paterson. Members from the South African Police Service (SAPS) are on the scene at Addo's Main Gate monitoring the situation. We'll keep you posted!
