Kruger National Park: Swimming pool at the Shimuwini Bushveld Camp is temporarily closed!

South African National Parks (SANParks) has announced that the swimming pool at the Shimuwini Bushveld Camp in Kruger National Park is temporarily closed. According to SANParks, this is due to maintenance work "necessary to enhance your future Kruger experience".
Shimuwini Bushveld Camp is located in the northern region of Kruger National Park, along the banks of the Letaba River. The self-catering bushveld camp is the most modern of the bushveld camps in the National Park, , being completely rebuilt after the floods in 2000. Only residents and no day visitoirs are allowed in the camp and on the access roads to Shimuwini Bushveld Camp. Phalaborwa Gate, about 50 km (31 miles) away, is the closest and most convenient access point to the Camp.

Kruger National Park: Some units in Shimuwini Bushveld Camp under renovation!

South African National Parks (SANParks) has announced that some units in the Shimuwini Bushveld Camp in Kruger National Park are currently under renovations. The project is expected to be finished in March 2024. Shimuwini Bushveld Camp is one of the most modern of the bushveld camps in Kruger National Park, being completely rebuilt after the floods in 2 000. Located in the Northern Region of Kruger National Park, Shimuwini Bushveld Camp is set in a remote area along the Letaba River with superb river views. The camp is 50 kilometres away from Phalaborwa Gate.

Kruger National Park: Road condition update!

South African National Parks (SANParks) has released an update on the road conditions (as of 16 Jan 2016) in Kruger National Park's northern Nxanasteni region, which is currently experiencing heavy rains.

Balule Rest Camp

• The water level on the S89 is high and guests are therefore advised to make use of the S91 and S92 as well as the causeway to access Balule.

Kaleka

• Due to overflowing the H1-9 is closed. Mopani Rest Camp is accessible via the Letaba high water bridge.

Shimuwini Bushveld Camp

• The camp is inaccessible.
