Victoria Falls Border Post now open 24/7 between Zimbabwe and Zambia!

Travellers exploring the iconic Victoria Falls can look forward to even greater convenience. The Victoria Falls Border Post between Zimbabwe and Zambia - one of the most spectacular and memorable international crossings in the world - is now operating 24 hours a day.

According to an Extraordinary Government Gazette (General Notice 2265A of 2025), published on 13 November 2025 by the Zimbabwean Secretary for Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage, Ambassador Raphael Faranisi, the operating hours of the Victoria Falls Border Post have been extended to a round-the-clock service with immediate effect.

Until now, the popular border post was open from 06:00 to 22:00 daily, serving thousands of tourists and local commuters. The shift to 24/7 operations means visitors can cross between Zimbabwe and Zambia at any time of day or night, offering far greater travel freedom.

For travellers, tour operators, and self-drivers, this change removes previous timing constraints and allows for smoother itineraries - whether you're chasing sunrise on one side of the Falls or returning late after a sunset cruise on the other. The uninterrupted border access enhances regional connectivity and supports tourism growth in both countries.

Travelling between Zimbabwe and Zambia: Visa information
Travellers crossing between the two countries should ensure they hold the correct visa. Many visitors opt for the popular KAZA UniVisa, which allows unlimited same-day or multi-day crossings between Zimbabwe and Zambia and also covers day trips to Botswana. Those not eligible for the KAZA UniVisa will need to obtain separate visas for each country, depending on nationality and entry rules. Always check current visa requirements before travelling, as regulations can change.
