In celebration of Namibia’s 35th Independence Anniversary and the inauguration of the country’s 5th President, Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, on 21 March 2025, the Namibia Airports Company (NAC) has issued an important advisory for travelers flying to or from Hosea Kutako International Airport (WDH) in Windhoek.
With international dignitaries and visitors expected to attend the event, passengers should anticipate road closures and increased traffic congestion in Windhoek and around the airport. To ensure a smooth journey, NAC advises all travellers to:
- Allow extra travel time to reach the airport.
- Check for road closures and alternate routes in advance.
- Arrive early for check-in and security screening.
For a hassle-free experience, travellers are encouraged to plan ahead and stay informed about potential disruptions.
